    Just after Thanksgiving in 1987, a seven-year-old boy was traveling home to California with his family after spending the holiday in Las Vegas. Heavy traffic led the family to stop at a hotel and casino along the way. The hotel had an arcade, and his family set him up with a game while they waited. They believed he would be safe there. But shortly before they were ready to leave, he was gone.Witnesses would later report seeing the boy leave the arcade hand-in-hand with an unknown man. An intensive search continued for weeks before ending with the worst possible outcome. In the years that followed, the case would take a complicated path toward justice.   5. Number 5: A Tragedy Beyond Measure: The Murder of Angelikque Sutton and a Discussion of Fetal Abduction

    While recently covering the disappearance of Branson Perry, I briefly discussed the murder of his cousin's wife, Bobbie Jo Stinnett, a victim of the rare and devastating crime known as fetal abduction. That conversation led me to a discussion with returning podcast guest and retired Bronx Homicide Detective Robert Klein, who investigated a remarkably similar case in 2015.In this episode, Rob joins me to discuss the murder of 22-year-old Angelikque Sutton, a young mother-to-be whose life was stolen just days before she was due to give birth. Fetal abduction cases are incredibly rare, but when they do happen, they leave devastation that reaches far beyond the immediate victim. We discuss Angelikque's case, the deception that often surrounds these crimes, and the patterns investigators have observed across similar cases over the years.
