A-Star with Abby Roling

Writing & DIrecting a feature film is the dream of my good friend, Kazek Israni-Winger. From being on set for one of Kazek, I knew how creative this individual was. I'm so happy that we got to sit down & discuss his newest goals in the filmmaking world. As a college student, doing projects was the norm. Now, in the real world, we must navigate new concepts, financial backing, & finding props for the film to come together in its fullest, truest form. Obstacles are just hurdles for Kazek, as his latest script has won several awards. Join our conversation as we journey through the hills of writing & directing a feature film.

What’s the secret to life? Abby and Cr3y sit down to discuss what it is like to be a light worker. As artists we have an opportunity to project our light in the midst of darkness. Law of attraction is a concept discussed by top tier authors & speakers such as Abraham Hicks, Bob Proctor, & Dr. Joe Dispenza. Learning from these mentors have moved me to a more optimistic view of life. Putting my dreams as a priority. It is interesting to dive into topics that are more spiritual in context but can be applied to our individual life experience. Tuning into our emotions, paying attention to signs, and discussing new-age music are themes that shine through in this episode.

Plant Biased, a new open kitchen in Waterloo, Iowa is open for Meatless Monday's. Orders are being taken through Facebook or Instagram. I,  Abby, had the pleasure of sitting down to chat with the co-founder of a new vegan option in the Cedar Valley area, Yobel Ande. In this episode, Ande describes his new-founded love for eating a plant-based diet, working with his family, and the act of changing habits. Stay tuned for more vegan recipes through the new year + beyond. Thank you all for watching to the end! If you are reading this, let's have a conversation about your start-up.

Happy Holidays, stars! We got a good one for you to end off this hectic year of 2020. Even though 2020 has been one for the books, with struggles, disease, and protesting, creating A-Star with my partner in crime will be the most memorable part. Trials and tribulations have came up, but there is growth in the challenges.

In this episode, I brought Clayton Brecht, my boyfriend and producer on. We reflect on starting the podcast, our equipment, editing process, a little about our Christmas celebration, as well as what is in store for A-Star next year! Within the episode we leave bits of value about the basics it takes to start a podcast.

Overall, podcasting has some hurdles. Being satisfied with the content that is released while also being analytical about the episodes to come is the best way to consistently add value to your channel. We were tested this episode when we checked the video footage after recording, and there was only one minute before the camera shut off. So, Clayton and I adapted to the situation to create a visual that is still appealing to the eye.

Sit back, relax, and come vibe with us as we give away some of our biggest secrets to the podcast life.

Finally! The wait is over. A-Star Podcast is here! For our first episode, host Abby Roling sat down with director, Ben Hagarty, also known as BenRealVsWorld to discuss his journey from a college town in Iowa to moving to LA to work with legends such as Chris Brown, Mary J. Blige, SchoolBoy Q, Beyonce, and JayZ as well as well-known brands such as EA Sports. Equally important, Ben has created a platform for content creators through his podcast Black With No Cream where he has sat down with music industry icons. It was such a pleasure to chat with Ben, and he gave us life lessons to take with and cherish forever. The value in this episode is unreal. So, buckle your seatbelt and get ready for another starry session.
