A Sure Hope

But others come with motives; if your heart is wrong, you could lead yourself or others away from God.

Sometimes we fall into the “routine of religion” and forget that abundant life is available to us. The world sees that and thinks Christianity is just a list of rules. Pastor Dave tells you today that you need to focus on God’s love for you so that He can fill you to overflowing and then you can share His love and life to others.

If we’re honest about what occupies our thoughts and what our motivation is for a lot of things, the answer is often money. Our material possessions and what gets us through the day. But Pastor Dave reminds you today that if you’ll lift up your eyes to Jesus, He will show you that there are much bigger things in life.

Let’s be totally honest – in our daily time in the Word, we don’t always feel like we’re getting anything from it. Today, Pastor Dave tells you that, even though you don’t think you’re getting anything from what you read, keep going. Because God’s Word never comes back void. When you need it, it’ll come back to you.

In today’s message, Pastor Dave tells you that when you look at what the Bible says, it doesn’t say that God has love, but it teaches that God IS love. When He shows you love, He shows you Himself. And, when you open your life to Him, He flows through you like a fountain to spread love to those around you.

“Misery loves company.” It’s a common phrase that we all have personal experience with. No one likes to complain alone, we need an audience, right? Pastor Dave tells you in today’s message that, while it’s good to communicate, it’s dangerous to complain because complaining spreads a spirit of ingratitude.

There’s a healthy way to talk about what’s going on in your life, but Pastor Dave reminds you today there’s a fine line between venting and complaining. When you complain, you’re showing a lack of gratitude for God and what He’s done. But by practicing gratitude, you unleash the power of the Holy Spirit in your life.

As we go about our busy days, it’s easy to get lost in the routine and think that we don’t matter. But in today’s message, Pastor Dave tells you that you matter more than anything to Jesus. He gave up everything for you – specifically you – because He couldn’t bear the thought of being separated from you forever.

We want to believe that everyone’s a good person. But the Bible says that isn’t the case – we need to be taught to share because it’s not our nature to do so. Despite being born into a sinful nature, Pastor Dave tells you today that everyone has a desire to know God. And that God wants you to help them find Him.

Receiving Jesus as Lord and Savior isn’t complicated. In today’s message Pastor Dave explains that when you believe in your heart and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, you will be saved. It’s simple. Don’t overcomplicate what God has made very plain. Jesus died to save sinners. Simply believe and confess.
