A Sure Hope

Today, Pastor Dave will be reminding you that salvation comes from the sacrifice of Jesus alone, and not from any good deeds that you can perform. The Bible says that your righteous deeds are as filthy rags before a Holy God. Don’t place your trust in your own works, because it’s impossible to earn your own salvation.

Too often, we can lose sight of God’s plan for us. Today, Pastor Dave will explain how when Peter’s focus shifted to his own desires and plans, Jesus rebuked him to get him back on track. May your focus always be on God and His plans so that you may never experience a similar rebuke from the Lord.

Jesus is the sovereign servant. Pastor Dave reveals in today’s message that Jesus was serving and ministering to His disciples until the very end. Teaching them what it was like to follow after Him and carry on His ways to others. He would often bring Himself low to raise others to new heights. In what ways do you try to model this?

Those who desire to be first must be last. Pastor Dave teaches in today’s message that Jesus modeled what it was like to be a servant-leader. He was humble and would take on jobs that were thought to be solely for servants. But Jesus is called the Suffering Servant and desires us to take up our cross daily and follow Him.

Hardening your heart against Jesus leads to a dangerous progression—from resisting the light to an eventual inability to believe. Today, Pastor Dave explains the sobering reality of the unpardonable sin: rejecting the work of the Holy Spirit. Don't let a hardened heart separate you from the hope and salvation found in Christ.
