A tale of two cities: Makati is rolling back bike lanes while Quezon City looks to ramp up

After hosting one of the Metro’s first protected bike lanes during the pandemic, Makati announced on February 10 that bike lanes along Ayala Avenue would soon be converted to shared lanes with public vehicles. In contrast, Quezon City is ramping up its cycling infrastructure. We head down to both cities and investigate.
