Hi everyone this is the next move for my Podcast as I go to a Music & Talk show. Future episodes will contain music and my main transmission platform will be Spotify as listeners can easily favorite or add songs to their own playlists as they listen on Spotify. I will continue to use anchor.fm as my production platform.
I Am Worthy of BEING BETTER and Better is Possible for ME Right Now!!
If a teacher’s to-do list was centered on engaging with children and helping them learn, most of us wouldn’t mind a long, busy, or even hectic day and we would be immensely satisfied from knowing you made a difference and had meaningful interactions with the children. So much of our energy is focused on paperwork, email, compiling and analyzing data, attending meetings, and other non-instructional tasks that the actual work of teaching children is no longer the primary focus.
When you begin to view your work through the lens of doing fewer things better, you give yourself permission to clear away obligations that aren’t meaningful, both at school and in your personal life. That is the primary focus of this podcast episode to encourage you to start to give your self the permission to: BE THE BEST YOU CAN BE!
In this episode I look back at a piece I did regarding ADHD (also known as ADD) and some of the common myths surrounding this disorder. It came about after a week of parent meetings and numerous discussions on the topic with them. It was actually quite scary to hear some of the perceptions they had around ADHD and their children as a result of lots of misinformation.
I have worked extensively with children experiencing ADHD and have found if managed properly we can avoid it becoming a major problem for the child regarding both learning and behaviour difficulties. In this episode I try to give an insight into my thinking around how I do this and also give some positivity for parents who have children who are coping with ADHD.

As we return after another lock-down many educators are delighted to once again have their classes in front of them. Over the last number of lock-downs I have striven to maintain contact with my pupils on my Outreach List. I have used both Microsoft and Google educational platforms as they are generic across all of the schools in the Education Authority area that I am based in.
I partnership with a number of schools I started to experiment with Flipgrid and found it to be a go to means of giving my home locked pupils a voice and now I'm going to extend that experiment out across all of my children across all of the schools in which they are placed. This is the beginning of my journey and I hope that you can follow me and gain something from my experiences.

I return to my podcast after a long half term of work in the face of a national pandemic. Education and particularly schools have been subject to much scrutiny during the whole lock-down/remote learning that has been part of everyday life since before Christmas.
We are now into February and I feel schools have got a bad deal regarding notions of them being closed and teachers having an easy time, so here are a few of my experiences and I look to dispel a few myths around remote learning and around the so called easy time that teachers have had.

In today's episode I look at the rationale behind schools going to Remote Learning for the last week of the term in order to allow for an avoidance of Covid Infection causing either a child, their family or indeed a school staff members' family being forced into Self-Isolation over the Christmas Holiday period. I also comment on the continuing lack of empathy towards schools and their staff by our incumbent Education Minister Mr Peter Weir MLA.
