As we live, we breathe the air of privilege and trauma. There are moments when I am conscious of breathing, but most of the time it happens automatically. (Please take a moment to be aware of your breath). So it is with “privilege” by which I mean our capacities and resources, be they physical, emotional, spiritual, personal or economic. We often take these as “givens” without even thinking.

Anybody thinking of enabling Trump to return must be stopped.

Those in the Trump/Maga camp should consider this fact: despite having only 4% of the world's population, the United States consistently accounted for 20% of cases and deaths due to Covid-19. 

The Trump administration's Covid-19 response needs the scrutinization of nothing less than The Hague, the permanent home of the United Nations' International Court of Justice.

Trump’s remarks, from long before he was elected president and throughout his presidency, on a variety of topics including vaccines and autism, climate change, and wind farms, show he rejects scientific conclusions and methods.

History's purpose, I gleaned from great historians, is to keep us focused on the present as citizens by learning about the historical figures and situations of our collective and interlocking pasts. So today, to avoid a descent into authoritarianism and fascism, I say we must look to the past for guidance. And we must follow the words of Sen. Daniel Patrick Moynihan: You are entitled to your own opinion, but not your own facts.

Murdoch doesn't just have the power to settle lawsuits, he has the power to move world events, almost always in a negative and harmful way.
