Song Of The Week: The Actor by Folk Bitch Trio. Wonderful Melbourne folk trio with a lovely track, but they are really more than just that. This track was beautifully recorded in Auckland, NZ, and you can see why an international star, such as Rufus Wainwright, would want them as support on his Australian Tour, and they also provided backing on some of his song. Destined for greatness!

Song Of The Week: DOA by St Vincent. An interesting electronic release, with a very retro sound, this is a track from the soundtrack to the new film Death Of A Unicorn. Sounds like a lot of different tracks,  but ultimately is still very much it’s own creation. My ears are still bleeding. But in a good way.

Song Of The Week: Wonderful Guy by Tight Fit. Rather cheesy song choice this week from Tight Fit, an 80’s UK dance pop trio fronted by Steve Grant, and this is the aural equivalent of comfort food, a song about a wonderful guy. This is from a brand new album Forever.

Song Of The Week:  Jacket by Littlefair, a rainbow band from Perth. A great new song, and “Jacket is about all the feelings that come with a new crush—when you don’t know if they feel the same, and it’s scary and exhilarating at the same time,” explains co-writer Jessica Depiazzi. “We wanted to capture that rush, where you’re trying to find reasons to spend time together–like stealing jackets and sneaking into house parties you heard they might be at. The lyrics are teenage and fun, but I think the core of wanting to be loved is universal.”

Song Of The Week: God Bless written and performed by Jake Wesley Rogers, a glam pop artist from. America. Sort of a new anthem, but not really. See the words below. Something to think about, and a great gospel’ish tune.

Momma’s little gun on the back of your head

Got a little drunk, ordered jockstraps on the internet

You taste just like honey on cornbread

I feel so alone when you’re not in my bed

God bless the straight man in a dress

God bless threesomes when I’m celibate

God bless doing mushrooms with an atheist

God bless, it’s a beautiful fucking mess

God bless the trans kid in Texas

God bless the gods that don’t exist

Sometimes I wish it all would end

But, God bless, it’s a beautiful fucking mеss

Daddy’s littlе sword going through your heart

Got a little bored, bought gas with your father’s corporate card

We’re having car sex in a business park

Like we’re the last couple on Noah’s ark

That’s your lot ….. now sashay away …
