Ann Hoover was the proud homeowner of a rowhouse that she brought back to life in Pittsburgh, PA. However, one down side to her beautiful home is that its counterpart (attached by an adjoining wall) was dilapidated and in need of a complete overhaul. It had remained unpurchased and falling apart until 1996 when it was purchased by a young and energetic Roy Kirk. The neighbors start off as allies but end as enemies whose feud is taken to the court system where Roy Kirk ends up facing fines of up to $50,000. If unsuccessful in his appeal case, Roy Kirk faces bankruptcy and the loss of his dream of flipping homes. That is why it is so strange when neither Roy nor Ann show up to court on March 25, 1997 when they both have so much at stake and so much invested emotionally and financially. The presiding judge dispatches the police to check on the two absent homeowners and what they find is beyond comprehension.
