The Bible is a tool for everyone to understand Jesus and God better. You do not need any formal education, an important religious teacher, or the knowledge of a different language to learn what’s in its pages. The gift of salvation is sometimes a difficult one for people to accept. We are used to working for things or giving something in order to receive something. But as Pastor Bill reminds us today, Jesus’ gift on the cross was God’s plan of salvation for His people. All you need to do is believe and receive. There is nothing more for you to do. Jesus paid everything on the cross for you so that you are free. Free to love God, free to live under grace, and free to share the truth of Jesus with everyone.

In being a servant of God, sometimes you are called to hard things. One of those things is telling people the truth. In today’s message, Pastor Bill encourages you to tell the truth even if it is difficult for someone to hear. You can’t be a servant of Christ and keep lies from people. Even lies of omission are not helpful in building up the kingdom of God. It’s possible that God placed you specifically in someone’s life to walk alongside them in difficult times. Legalism in a church setting takes on many forms. One way parents can show legalism is through their children. In today’s message, Pastor Bill reminds parents that your first goal is for your kids to be saved. Your role is to present Jesus, teach Jesus, and be examples of Jesus. As the old saying goes, you can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make him drink. Your children need to choose Jesus for themselves. Be patient, respectful, and continue to teach them the only true way to life!

The story of the prodigal son has many significant lessons for us to learn. In today’s message, Pastor Bill reminds us that the son was welcomed back because the dad was good and gracious. This is a small picture of what your heavenly Father looks like. No matter what you think you’ve done, there is nothing you have done “wrong enough” for God to push you away. When you become a Christian, you also become a child of God. You are the rightful heir to all that He has to offer including, eternal life, complete forgiveness, and everlasting grace. You’re free under grace with nothing to prove or earn. God can’t love you more than He already does, and He won’t love you any less!
