A Very Special Podcast

Episode #6: How I Met Your Mother - "The Slutty Pumpkin" Original Release Date: October 27, 2014

Here it is! The sixth episode of A Very Special Podcast and the fourth of our Halloween themed episodes; and believe me - we have at least two more spooky episodes in the can. This week, Patrick and Kat watch the first season episode of How I Met Your Mother, "The Slutty Pumpkin." This is the one where mopey Ted Mosby returns to the roof party of his apartment complex in hopes of casually running into a girl he met four years prior.

Plus, Patrick shares the story of going to a Halloween bash that was nothing but a drunken stupor and witnessed a young woman dressed in a Medusa costume fall from a railing-less porch. Also, College Kat thinks Halloween is stupid and would rather drink vanilla flavored vodka in her dorm while all her guy friends hit up the party circuit dressed as chicks!

Then, Patrick reads an e-mail he wrote to to a company twelve years ago that made Mr. Burns masks and swindles a popular eating establishment into getting free pizza. Bread crumbs!

Episode 5: That 70s Show - "Halloween" Original Release Date: October 18, 2014

Here it is! The fifth installment of A Very Special Podcast and the third of our Halloween themed episodes we'll be dropping all throughout the month of October! In this episode Patrick and Kat watch the second season episode of That 70s Show, simply titled "Halloween." This is the one where Fez goes trick or treating for the first time and then the gang spends the night hanging out in their abandoned elementary school; and Jackie beats up Hyde for some reason.

Plus, Patrick recants a horrific tale from his childhood when he watched The Exorcist for the first time when he was home alone and convinced he would become possessed by Pazuzu. Also, Kat sees The Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake in the theaters and the next day while in class hears the sounds of saws in the distance and loses her shit!

There's also some banter about The Muppets Take Manhattan and Kat's best selling novella, The Spirit Board; which you can buy on Amazon for 99 cents! Hello, Wisconsin!

Plus, we examine Jon Arbuckle's depressive lifestyle and wonder why he keeps his dead aunt's dentures in a treasure chest in his attic.

Here it is! The third episode of A Very Special Podcast and the first of our Halloween themed episodes we'll be dropping all throughout the month of October! In this episode Patrick and Kat watch the second season episode of Roseanne, "Boo." This is the one where Dan and Roseanne Conner compete with each other over who is the prank master of Halloween. Also, it's the one where the Conner's living room is transformed into the Tunnel of Terror!

Plus, Patrick shares a Footloose-ian tale about how Halloween was banned in his hometown, urban legends coming true, and murderers on the loose. Also, like Becky Conner, Kat stopped caring about Trick or Treating at a fairly young age; but Patrick trooped on at least through high school - thanks to the un-banning of the sugar-filled holiday!

There's also talk about haunted houses and the elderly woman who lived next door to Patrick, who also happened to be a werewolf! AWOO!

This is the one where John Ritter and Amy Yasbeck guess star as a couple expecting their first child and they think they have it all under control; but low and behold - they don't! Hilarity ensues and John Ritter falls down the stairs!

Plus, Patrick and Kat question the legality of running a medical practice on the bottom level of a Brooklyn brownstone. Also, Patrick always imagined as a child that he would blossom into a Theo Huxtable-like teenager, but it didn't quite turn out that way.

Note: We recorded this episode a few weeks before the Hannibal Buress video clip became news.

Here it is! The premier episode of A Very Special Podcast! This is the podcast where Patrick and Kat discuss all of year favorite television series from yesterday over a glass of wine. In this episode Patrick and Kat discuss the classic first season episode of WKRP in Cincinnati, "Turkeys Away." This is the one where Mr. Carlson, the useless radio station manager, decides to toss live turkey's out of a helicopter as a promotional stunt. Hilarity ensues!

Plus, Patrick reveals his name is difficult to search on Google and Kat has trouble signing up for a Twitter account. Also, Patrick accepts a ride from a stranger in a window-less van, Kat reveals the cafeteria at her college had the same tables as The Max from Saved by the Bell, real life radio stunts that have gone awry and much, much more.

Thanks for listening to our first episode and please stick with us as we figure out how to properly podcast. We are not professionals. We are just two dopes on the internet who love television... wine... and being weird.
