A Very Special Podcast

Episode #53: Mixology - “Tom & Maya”
Original Release Date: August 27, 2016

This week Patrick and Kat take a peek into the lives of ten strangers who are brought together in some swanky bar none of us could afford with one common goal: to get laid. No, not MTV’s The Real Word, but ABC’s short lived Mixology.

Plus, is the curse of Geena Davis mimicking that of Ted McGinley? Was The Simpsons a loophole to watch semi-scandalous television and what was six-year old Patrick doing awake after 9pm on a Sunday night?

Episode #52: Lost - “Exposé”
Original Release Date: August 21, 2016

Despite being regarded as one of the worst episodes of Lost, Patrick and Kat decide to tackle the upsettingly shoehorning of everyone’s least favorite castaways, Nikki and Paulo, into the wonderful world of Jack Shepard and friends. It was a bumpy road for those murdering diamond thieves and they would have gotten away with it if it wasn’t for those pesky medusa spiders.

Plus, would all this mess have been avoided if Jessica Fletcher visited the set of Exposé, missed opportunities for Josh Holloway to yell, “Son of a bitch” in other acting roles, and why is Sawyer’s hair so damn well coifed all the time?

Episode #51: Fuller House - “Our Very First Show, Again”
Original Release Date: August 8, 2016

Patrick and Kat decide to watch the Fuller House pilot episode and check on what the Tanner clan has been up to the last two decades. Michelle is missing in action, DJ is a widower and mom, Stephanie is a globe-trotting DJ named DJ Tanner, and Danny Tanner, well, he now dresses pretty sloppily.

Episode #50: The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis - “The Mystic Powers of Maynard G. Krebs”
Original Release Date: July 26, 2016

Fifty episodes later and Kat and Patrick are still up to this nonsense and this week it’s a listener request episode; shout out to Ryan of Missouri who suggested we watch The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis. On the surface it may be a lighthearted teenage sitcom, but peel off the layers and it’s a town plagued with supernatural powers and a rich American aristocrat who is trying to rig the 1960 presidential election.

Also, Patrick and Kat reveal their true feelings on the upcoming MacGyver revival and gush over the Law & Order franchise.

Episode #44: Julie Brown - “The Homecoming Queen’s Got a Gun”
Original Release Date: June 8, 2016

No trip to the 80s is complete without Julie Brown’s classic teen tragedy parody, “The Homecoming Queen’s Got a Gun.” This is a jovial tale of a popular chick named Debbie that goes on a shooting spree during a high school dance, oddly predating the mass shooting hysteria that is currently plaguing our nation.

Plus, Patrick celebrated Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s birthday by downloading his alarm clock app, discussion of the 1990 Earth Day television movie, Patrick’s love for Geena Davis, and Kat’s undying hatred towards The O.C.’s Marissa Cooper.
