The Philadelphia Flyers signed off on their issues as they signed the controversial Tony DeAngelo. DeAngelo has a track record of disruption, antagonism, and most importantly outright racism, sexism, and homophobia. This is not what you need when trying to rebuild a team’s culture. Chuck Fletcher, General Manager for the Philadelphia Flyers, has apparently been asleep at the wheel this off-season. Over the last several weeks, there have been multiple opportunities to improve this NHL franchise's roster, and Fletcher and his front office staff have consistently dropped the ball. Johnny Gaudreau, arguably the hottest free agent available right now, wanted to come to Philadelphia. He opted not to resign with the Calgary Flames and wanted to make the city of brotherly love his new home. Fletcher in his infinite wisdom said that they were not in on Gaudreau and that they were done with the Free Agency market. He cited cap space as why they did not attempt to get the Left Wing from New Jersey. Instead, the Philadelphia Flyers re-sign Justine Braun and pick up Nic Deslauriers. Could the Flyers have made it work with Johnny Hockey? Could they have found the space to fit him on the payroll?


Recently the Philadelphia Phillies have lost three of their last five games. With 4 players (JT Realmuto, Alec Bohm, Aaron Nola, and Kyle Gibson) not participating in this current series against the Toronto Blue Jays, how will this affect the team's momentum as they get ready for the white-hot Seattle Mariners right before next week’s All-Star break? But a more pressing issue will be signing a second-line center with both Ryan Strome and Andrew Copp becoming unrestricted free agents. The Stanley Cup champs have a busy offseason in store with many FAs, and Nazem Kadri tops the list. Ondrej Palat could be one of the steals of this free-agent class if the Tampa Bay Lightning can't sign the forward. And John Klingberg could be on the move, as well! Will old friend Claude Giroux move back home and sign with the Ottawa Senators now that they have acquired Alex DeBrincat?
