Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat was lambasted by left-wing politicians recently as insensitive after announcing that he would not attend Jerusalem’s Gay Pride Parade because it was damaging to the ultra-Orthodox and right-wing sectors’ sensibilities.

The gay community has become increasingly militant in insisting that everyone endorse their lifestyle, even if doing so directly contradicts a person’s religion.
