Not surprisingly for a bunch of islanders, Tassie's love to fish ... in fact about a quarter of us do it every year.
But overfishing has meant stricter catch limits have been put on some our favourites, including the once ubiquitous sand flathead.
The island is also a boon for commercial fishers and a potential new fishery has been discovered off our north east ... if it gets the go ahead though, it won't be directly destined for the dinner table.
