This week Llewelyn brought us the next message in our Advent series, reading from Matthew 2.

This week Beth launched our 2024 Advent series "God's Ancient Plan". Based in the book of Matthew, this series is about reflecting on the power and beauty of God's plan to become human as an old plan, one that has been in motion since the dawn of time. 
Beth encourages us to trust God, even when his plans take longer than we had hoped and wanted.

This week Llewelyn concluded our series in Wisdom by leading us in a time of reflection through the song, O Come O Come Emmanuel.

This week as we near the end of our season looking at Biblical wisdom, Llewelyn brought us a message from 2 Timothy 3:15. Speaking on wisdom that leads to salvation, he challenges us to think about the role that humility, fear of the Lord and the person of Jesus play in that wisdom.

Beth leaves us with the following questions to continue to reflect on the wisdom of church.

This week Beth begun two weeks teaching into 'The Wisdom of Church'.

Reading from Matt 16:13-20, where Simon-Peter makes the declaration of Jesus as the Messiah being "the rock on which I (Jesus) will build my church". This is the moment that Jesus establishes the church. Church is God's idea, not ours, established by Jesus for the foundational purpose of gathering and declaring Jesus as Messiah, Lord and King.

Church is a clear example of God's wisdom at work. The act of gathering to declare Jesus as Lord to each other, to the world and to God has profound purpose and meaning to our faith and to our calling to continue Jesus' mission until He returns.

This week Travis brought us another message from our wisdom series as we explore the spirit of wisdom.

Reading from Jeremiah 17, 31 and Acts 2 Travis challenged us to think about an 'unconventional' wisdom that doesn't come from what is found in our learnings from books, or wisdom practiced through the tools we have at our disposal.

But where does this ‘unconventional’ wisdom come from? The theme of ‘Torah Written on our Hearts’ helps us respond to this question.

Understanding ‘Torah written on our hearts’ as the centre of who I am is an irrevocable expression of the heart of God, and helps us to see that wisdom isn’t so much learned, or practiced — it is embodied.
