We know that God can do great things. He is God and can do anything he wishes. But sometimes, like Job, we wonder what leads God to do what he does. And when troubles come, it's vital that our focus remains on him.

Readings: Job 38:1-11, Acts 27:13-26, Mar 4:35

When Adam and Eve fell into sin, God came looking for his fallen creatures. "Where are you, my child?" God knew very well where they were, but he wanted them by his side, not stuck in sin. Jesus reminds us this week how important it is for us to stand with him in faith.

God is so great -- it is only fitting that we worship him. But is there a right way to gather for worship? Jesus give us insights about the kind of praise that pleases him and the kind of worship that brings blessings to God’s people.

Throughout the summer, we're celebrating the Spirit's work. God uses his word to teach and train us. And we'll seek the answers to some Basic Christian Questions- our summer sermon series. The first question we'll ask is "Who is our God" and what is he like? Come learn the comfort of the Trinity. And join us as we ask his blessing on our teacher Kayte Gut as we bid her farewell in our 10:30AM service.

After Jesus’ ascension into heaven, his followers may have felt as though they were alone. But on this day, we celebrate the great arrival of the Counselor, God’s Holy Spirit. We also ask for the Spirit’s blessing upon our student confirmands as they make profession of faith in the 10:30AM service. It's Confirmation Day and Pentecost Day together: Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your people!

This weekend, people all across the country will be calling and sending cards, wishing "happy mother's day" to someone who is likely their best friend in the world. Jesus' love is even greater. Join us this weekend as we celebrate not only Jesus love, but also the love we have for one another.

In the busy month of May, it would not be surprising to hear the question, “how do you have the energy to do it all?” For Christians, the answer can be found in Jesus’ words from John 15: “I am the Vine, you are the branches. If you remain in me, you will bear much fruit.” Join us this week and be rooted in your Savior’s strength!

We would expect the joy of Christ’s resurrection to settle all the disciples fears. But one of Jesus’ disciples, Thomas, was still in turmoil. If you’re searching for peace and comfort, join us this week to learn how God’s Word provides the peace we need.

On the evening of Easter, Jesus' disciples needed time to understand the meaning of his love for them. Jesus took the time to help them understand the impact of his resurrection and showed them the source of joy. This week, we'll talk about the ways in which we can help others understand Easter and the love of God in a service called "Jesus Cares"
