This is Jesus: Living Lord

After seeing their leader and friend laid into a tomb, the hope and joy of his disciples must have been destroyed. It's what many people feel when the reality of death invades our lives. But on this day, we see our Savior leave the tomb and defeat death forever. Hope and joy is restored for all believers! Join us for two special services this weekend. We'll celebrate Holy Communion at 7AM and raise our voices with the students of our congregation at 10:30AM. Rejoice! He is risen!

How to Conquer with Humility

Why would anyone call a boy born in a Bethlehem barn their King and Savior? Why hail a leader riding on a donkey? Humility is an attitude which can be hard for us to understand and appreciate, but with Christ, humility is the key to greater majesty. Put your trust in this King, and you’ll never be put to shame!

Putting our trust in Jesus never seems simple. Nicodemus struggled a great deal to put this trust fully in Jesus. Jesus not only exposed this lack of trust for the unbelief it was. But he also triumphs over unbelief by making a statement upon which faith must rest: God had sent his Son to be the Savior of our world.

Jesus knew that his mission to save the world would include pain and death and the shame of a cross. But he also knows that those who follow him must be prepared to carry crosses of their own. How can we endure under the weight of these crosses? We listen to his promise to us that we will gain life forever if we follow him.

The devil is the enemy of God and his people. He attacked Christ and tried to convince him to abandon his work. But when Christ overcame him with the power of God’s Word, the devil turns his attention to us, his followers. When the trials come, we look to our Christ, our champion, and put our trust in him.

Who is Jesus really? The disciples who followed him all over Palestine must have wanted to know the

truth. Days before he enters Jerusalem to suffer and die, he gives them a glimpse of his glory. In the

weeks to come, we’ll walk the road of the cross and watch this Jesus suffer too. Come get a glimpse of

the God-man and find the very strength of God! Come join us as we conclude our celebration of

Epiphany on the mountaintop of God’s grace!

What was Jesus’ main mission on earth? Some may think that it was to heal hurting bodies. This week, his miracles will teach us something more: that Jesus has the power to forgive and save. Life itself is a miracle of his love. The Word made flesh cares about our bodies, lives, and health. Come learn how Christ cares for you!

January 11 – A Substitute for Sinners

God wants all people to know why he sent his Son into our world. The day that Jesus was baptized by John in the Jordan was the day Jesus was anointed to do his Father’s work. This week, we’ll also learn how God uses the waters of baptism to remind us who we are – forgiven children set apart for his service!

God wants all nations to know and worship his Son. So he used a miraculous star to guide Wise Men from the East. We celebrate this visit of the Magi on a day called “Epiphany”, which means “making known.” Join us throughout the Epiphany season, and get to know your Savior!
