«Basta bugie. Il mio popolo chiede la libertà, non altre dottrine. Non gridiamo più, “patria o morte”, ma “patria e vita”, e cominciamo a costruire quello che sognavamo, quello che ci hanno distrutto».
Questa che abbiamo citato è una parte del testo di una canzone rap eseguita da un gruppo di famosi musicisti cubani uscita lo scorso febbraio. Una canzone che è stata bandita dal Paese come i suoi stessi esecutori e uno di loro, Maykel Osorbo, è stato finanche arrestato per 40 giorni dopo l’uscita del pezzo.
Nonostante i tentativi di soppressione da parte del governo cubano, la canzone si è diffusa a macchia d’olio in tutto il mondo diventando l’inno della lotta alla dittatura e iniziando ad accompagnare le manifestazioni di protesta che hanno coinvolto tutta Cuba dall’11 luglio 2021.
È uno degli uomini più potenti, ma anche più temuti, del mondo. Governa la Russia da 21 anni, uno Stato transcontinentale che si è trasformato nel suo regno e recentemente legittimato dalla Costituzione. Un regno che non ha intenzione di lasciare. Nell’aprile 2021, Vladimir Putin ha firmato la legge che gli permette di rimanere al potere fino al 2036, quando avrà 83 anni.
Immaginate di trovarvi su un aereo e di sapere che a breve arriverete a destinazione. Ad un certo punto, vi rendete conto che quell’aereo, viene affiancato da un jet militare, portandolo a cambiare direzione atterrando in un altro stato. Che cosa provereste?
Ecco, questo è quello che effettivamente è accaduto il 23 maggio ad un volo di linea Ryanair Atene-Vilnius in Lituania, dirottato dalle autorità della Bielorussia proprio sulla sua capitale, Minsk, perché a bordo si trovava il giornalista dissidente Roman Protasevich, arrestato sulla pista di atterraggio assieme alla compagna Sofia Sapega.
Il fatto è stato talmente grave che ha portato l’Unione Europea a chiudere il proprio spazio aereo e i suoi aeroporti ai voli bielorussi. Che cosa vuol dire tutto questo? La compagnia aerea di stato bielorussa, Belavia, non potrà volare, decollare o far atterrare i propri aerei, dagli aeroporti dei paesi membri. Una misura molto pesante che porta all’isolamento del paese, che in questo momento è più instabile che mai.
“Chi controlla il passato controlla il futuro: chi controlla il presente controlla il passato” scriveva George Orwell nel suo 1984. E a pensarci bene è proprio vero, soprattutto se puntiamo i fari su Hong Kong, la città che da anni è il tragico teatro di una drastica diminuzione della democrazia.
Per capire bene la situazione è necessario però ricordare come la città-isola di Hong Kong, pur essendo territorio della Cina, ha una propria autonomia dal 1997, ovvero quando finì il controllo del Regno Unito iniziato nel 1841. E nel 1997, quando la sovranità di Hong Kong passò alla Cina, il governo di Pechino adottò lo slogan “Un paese, due sistemi”, riconoscendo a Hong Kong per i 50 anni successivi e quindi fino al 2047, lo status di regione amministrativa speciale, quindi il mantenimento del suo sistema capitalistico e delle sue caratteristiche democratiche.
Ma a quanto pare, la Cina ha iniziato a non rispettare più alcuno status.
Per la prima volta nella storia, anche le persone transgender potranno partecipare alle Olimpiadi. Questo non determina un vantaggio ma l'applicazione delle nuove linee guida del Comitato Olimpico Internazionale, supportate dalla ricerca scientifica.
