Ajai Prakash, pastor of the Well Church in North Liberty, Iowa is one of many members of Donald Trump’s Iowa Faith Leader Coalition who signed a petition demanding that the Iowa State legislature obey a tradition that marriage must only be between one man and one woman. The trouble is that this tradition is pseudohistory. It doesn't exist! In the Bible, Abraham himself had two wives at the same time, and King Solomon, beloved of the Bible’s god and revered for his wisdom, had many many wives.

There is nowhere in the Bible that commands that marriage can only be between one man and one woman. The bible describes monogamous heterosexual marriages, sure, but it never says that’s the only kind of marriage that can exist, and its holy men often had different marriages.

Present-day marriage bigots in Iowa churches are making up this tradition. It’s a false tradition based on fake history! Furthermore, many Iowa churches practice same-sex marriage as a sacrament. Why do Donald Trump’s preachers in the Iowa Faith Leader Coalition think that the Iowa state government and the US federal government have any business choosing sides in Christianity, and saying which Christian churches can sanction which kinds of marriages?

Many members of Donald Trump’s Iowa Faith Leader Coalition are calling for war against Democrats, against immigrants, and anyone who refuses to submit to their fascist agenda. We must not give them the war that they seek,

The way to defend democracy is to uphold democracy through democratic means. The time to defeat the Christian Nationalist fascism of Donald Trump is now, before he gains the power of the Presidency, and the military might it possesses. The only way for us to defeat violence is to resist it nonviolently.

As a member of the Iowa Faith Leader Coalition, Joel Tenney believes that fighting demons isn’t something that needs to be done on just an individual level. He believes that all of Christianity, and eventually all of society, must be consumed in an epic battle between people who are on the side of Jesus and people who he believes are possessed by demons.

Joel Tenney wants all of humanity to go to war, against itself, in the name of religion. His Christianity rejects peace. His religion urges massive violence.

With just one week until the Iowa caucuses, Tenney’s version of Christianity focuses on threatening and violently punishing its enemies. His version of Christianity teaches that everyone who disagrees with Donald Trump is an agent of evil who must be punished.

When you hear that Donald Trump has the endorsements of faith leaders, do you imagine a a huckster who goes from family to family with sick little children, promising to heal their illnesses with nothing but the power of hope? That’s what Dick Green, a member of Donald Trump’s Iowa Faith Leader Coalition, has been up to.

Stan Herndon of Fort Dodge, Iowa doesn't claim to be a pastor, but Jackson Lane, the Iowa Director of Faith Outreach for the Trump campaign, listed him as a pastor in the Iowa Faith Leader Coalition. Why? Why does Beacon of Hope not list Stanley Herndon on its staff, when he claims to be a chaplain there? It looks like something fishy is going on with the Iowa Faith Leader Coalition.

Stan Herndon says, though, that the Christian god has anointed Donald Trump as the next President of the United States. If that’s so, why did Biden defeat Trump in 2020? Also, if the all-powerful god of Christianity has truly anointed Trump to rule the USA, then why do all these Christian Nationalists think that they need to work so hard to get him re-elected. Why aren’t they relaxing, like lilies of the field? It’s as if they don’t really have faith in their own Christianity.

She began to prophesy that the Presidency of Joe Biden would fall apart, and that there would be a Christian Nationalist revolution to overthrow the federal government of the USA.

What if she was wrong?

What does it say about the Iowa Faith Leader Coalition supporting Donald Trump in the Iowa caucuses of 2024 that it contains such self-appointed Christian prophets?

The members of the Iowa Faith Leader Coalition aren’t just political extremists. Most of them are also criminals.

The law keeps a clear distinction between non-profit groups and political campaign organizations, so that non-profits can go about their work without being corrupted by partisan politics. This way, people can donate money to good causes without their donations being dishonestly re-directed to self-serving politicians.

 Also, the special benefit of not paying taxes is a way for the American people as a whole to benefit non-profit organizations. Obviously, it would not be fair if political candidates received the same benefit, because political candidates aren’t working for the public good. They’re working for themselves and their donors.

 This law applies equally to religious and non-religious non-profit organizations. There is no discrimination against religious groups involved at all. Churches are perfectly free to endorse and campaign for political candidates, just so long as they agree to pay taxes.

There are 23 Jewish organizations in Iowa, 22 Buddhist organizations, 21 Islamic organizations, 4 Hindu temples, and many other non-Christian religious organizations.

Nonetheless, there are zero Jewish religious leaders in the Iowa Faith Leader Coalition. There are no Muslim leaders. There are no Hindu or Buddhist leaders in the Iowa Faith Leader Coalition either.

The Iowa Faith Leader Coalition isn’t much of a coalition, is it?

All of the members of the Iowa Faith Leader Coalition put together by Donald Trump are Christians, and they don’t even represent the diversity of Christian beliefs that’s present in Iowa.

Katherine Watsey has not yet crossed the line from freedom of religion into incitement of religious genocide, but she is coming close. Katherine Watsey is encouraging people to believe that an American civil war of Christians killing non-Christians is in the near future, and that it will be a good thing.

Katherine Watsey’s bizarre violent fantasies are not merely laughable. They are very very dangerous.
