34 When the Pharisees heard that he had silenced the Sadducees, they came together.
35 And one of them, an expert in the law, asked a question to test him:
36 “Teacher, which command in the law is the greatest? ”
37 He said to him, “ Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.
38 This is the greatest and most important command.
39 The second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself. 40 All the Law and the Prophets depend on these two commands.”
Servanthood is not what you do but who you are!Don’t serve to be seen, serve to be like Christ. My time is not my own Make allowances for weaknesses(silently)Selfish Self serving Disguised( as helping but is really ego serving)Lazy Self-centeredNatural (Happens without effort)Just as the heart’s condition determines the quality length of life in our life’s so our spiritual hearts determine our quality of life.
God wants my heart because it’s my core. That will determine who I am to those around me
If I have an unrepentant heart my heart will become hard (pharaoh) and render me ineffective to be a servant of God
My heart is my agenda, God’s heart is his agenda.
Sin clogs the arteries of our spiritual heart. I can’t serve when I’m out of breath because I’m not conditioned right.
