    Today on Accent ON! Host Ilona Europa interviewed Alex Spurkel, a diverse producer and
    percussionist who has toured the world as a cutting-edge electronic/world drummer for acclaimed electronica
    pioneers, Electric Skychurch. Alex has a solid background in World music and studied ethnomusicology at UCLA,
    as well as with numerous world-renowned masters. His Mother Anushka Spurkel and very creative woman joined
    our show also. ALEX SPURKEL introduced us to Naked Rhytm -"Music Without Borders"

  • "R.A.T. - Rock Against Trafficking"
    Accent ON! ILONA EUROPA and HEATHER GUNN in studio live with our guests GARY MILLER and
    PETER WHITE, the Founder and Co-Founder of "R.A.T. - Rock Against Trafficking".
    Rock Against Trafficking is a new nonprofit group established to fight for the end of child slavery
    worldwide. R.A.T. will use the power of music and the Entertainment Industry to create global awareness of
    the horrors of "child slavery and sex trafficking".
    "Set Them Free" is the first project from R.A.T. featuring legendary guitarist SLASH, Steven Tyler, Fergie,
    Julian Lennon, Joss Stone, Glen Hughes (Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Trapeze), Andy Fraser, En Vogue, Heart,
    Rob Morrow, Journey's Neal Schon & Arnel Pineda, which has already received a huge amount of media
    attention. "Set Them Free" will be a compilation album with the artists performing the music of Sting.
    Gary Miller, Founder of R.A.T., is an internationally renowned music producer, songwriter, and composer. He
    has independently produced artists such as David Bowie, Simply Red, Donna Summer, Lionel Richie, Billy
    Preston, Girls Aloud, Charlotte Church, Hall & Oates, and many others. Mr. Miller is also co-owner of
    BuTown Entertainment, an entertainment platform producing content for music, television, film, and
    collaborating with unique artists to create mutually beneficial win wins.
    Peter White, Co-Founder and Director of R.A.T., is currently an Institutional Advisory Specialist with
    Principal Global Investors with over 20 years experience in the investment and financial advisory industry.
    White serves as the Director of Slavery No More, a non-profit organization working to combat modern-day
    slavery and human trafficking, and as a member of the Los Angeles Metro Task Force on Human Trafficking
    (LAMTF-HT), the Internet Crimes Against Children-Safe Surfin' Task Force, and co-founded the Los Angeles
    Global Human Trafficking Conference
    MARIA MONTGOMERY joined our show talking about her work with LITTLE ANGELS. She says: here at Little Angels
    we are truly passionate about what we do, which is helping kids from families who cannot pay for a regular
    creche and families who many times suffer from substance misuse, criminality, domestic violence, and HIV in

    to Mike Rizzo, and the first remix they worked on together was one of the most played songs on WKTU during
    the summer of 2001. It was 'Never Had a Dream Come True' by S-Club 7. To date, Josh has worked on over 300
    remixes, with most of them for major label artists like Seal, Madonna, The Killers and KoRn and ILona Europa.

    Host ILONA EUROPA interviewed our guest AGNIESZKA NIEZGODA autor of "HOLLYWOOD.PL".
    AGNIESZKA NIEZGODA, WRITER / PRODUCER / PUBLISHER have been working as a journalist for the last 15 years in
    positions as a staff writer for Polityka weekly, an editor for Elle magazine, and as the host of a televised
    talk show. My debut novel, Dobranocka, was publishedin 2009. The following year, it was optioned for a
    feature film and I adapted it into a screenplay. I graduated with my MA degree from the Faculty of
    Journalism and Political Science at the University of Warsaw. Currently, I work as a press correspondent from
    the U.S., covering the entertainment industry for HBO Central Europe, as well as conducting interviews with
    American scientists (including, among others: Michael Gazzaniga and Jared Diamond) for Focus magazine. During
    the four-year-long process of writing and producing Hollywood PL, I also established Hollywood PL Publishing
    House to provide the project with publishing independence.

    ERIN is serving in Afghanistan right now. We are so proud of her and and all of our military service men and
    women. Here's a little shout out for MSgt Erin McPherson who is deployed in Afghanistan supporting joint
    forces on the flight line. Making us proud!
    Today's show was an important tribute to Band of the West Coast. We played 3 songs from the band's repertoire.
    We learned more about Christalee's life as she returned to Accent On! and listened to her new song and talked
    about her connection with an incredible band called "Band of the West Coast".
