This is one of the few rules that I really like in English and that I have so much fun talking about it. It's the Magic "E" Rule: it states when the letter “e” sits at the end of the word, it is usually silent and the “magical” E tells the first vowel or the preceding vowel to say its name or long sound. Did you get it? In this episode, I'm talking about some examples and we can understand perfectly after hearing that. Hit the play button and let's learn together!

This episode was created to answer a question from my dear friend Daianne Schittino: how could I start to think in English? I really don't know how to answer this and I don't remember when English became so natural to me that I could think in this foreign language, but I realize that I did a lot of little things that helped me a lot to put English into my life more naturally. Besides that, I got some tips from Jason Whiting, a friend of mine and an English native speaker who speaks 9 different languages. Yes, nine! And I found some academic research too that say something about how our imagination and our process of decision making works when we think in a second language! This episode is full of information, right? So, press the play button, and let's learn together!!!

When do we use to do and to make in a sentence? Can we know the difference between them when we're talking or writing? For me, this a frequent mistake because Portuguese just have one verb to use in both cases. If you have some problems with delexical verbs too, press the play button and let's learn together!!!

I'm always looking for ways to get rid of my thick accent. Not because I think it's horrible, but, as I always say, an accent is not that cute if you can't be understood. Doing some research on the internet, I found some tips from native speakers that can improve the way we speak, letting us more fluent as second language learners, and I figure out even a way that science can explain why we speak the way we speak. Just hit the play button!

English has a lot of words with double letters and when you wanna use gerunds or superlatives it becomes worse. But do you know when you double the letter when you add some ing on it? And how can you tell that a word has a double letter or not? Is it the sound or there's some grammar involved too? I tried to clarify this enigma a little bit and this what I got. Just hit the play button right now and let's figure this out together!
