In this message, we discuss the popular verse: "For where two or three are gathered in my name..." As we look to the original context, we see that it is neither an excuse for missing Church, nor does it imply that Jesus is not present with individuals. Rather, Jesus is speaking in the context of church discipline. He is ensuring us that when we choose to follow God's prescribed methods to protect the purity of the Church, Jesus is with us. In this series, we will be looking at how our culture often picks and chooses Scripture verses and uses them without any regards to their original context. This week, we look at Philippians 4:13 which is often used as a pep-talk of sorts, where we think that because we quote it, God will bless whatever we are doing. When we look at this verse in context, we realize that Paul was saying, "God CAN change my circumstances, but He has a greater plan--changing US." Being a Christian means that Christ is with us in all circumstances, providing the strength that we need to accomplish His purposes!

In the final sermon of this series, we address the question: "Does it really matter what I believe so long as I am sincere?" We see that our culture is becoming increasingly pluralistic while denying absolute, objective truth. As Christians, we are often accused of being too exclusive; however, we understand that absolute truth comes from God and is not up for debate. We know that Scripture has made clear that salvation is found in Jesus Christ and Him alone. He is THE way, not one of many ways. We pray this message is an encouragement to you!

In this message, we address common questions posed by skeptics regarding the validity of the Bible as an ancient document. We see that the evidence for the reliability and validity are overwhelming in comparison to other famous ancient works of literature which are rarely, if ever, accused of being fraudulent. We also learn that the "gospels" which were excluded from Scripture were left out for good reason. As we dig for answers to these common questions, we gain confidence in the validity and authority of Scripture, and as a result, our faith and trust in God is deepened!

Skeptics typically ask questions regarding the validity and infallibility of Scripture. As we see in this message, the Bible has a coherent and non-contradictory message; however, it is written by a variety of human authors with various literary styles, purposes, and contexts, which accounts for the variations in the text. Therefore, we hold that Scripture, as contained in the original manuscripts, is the infallible Word of God. We hope this message is helpful to you as you defend your faith to those around you!

In this message, we look at the question, "If God is so good, why is there so much evil, pain, and suffering in the world?" This is a common question asked by those questioning the Christian faith. As we ask and answer the hard questions associated with our faith, we ultimately become more confident in the love, goodness, and wisdom of our Great God. In the final message of this series, we see Jesus' model for ministering to those who are most vulnerable in society. Jesus show those who are disabled and often pushed to the side as valuable and loved. As we follow Him by serving those around us, we should strive to recognize those on the fringes of society and understand their need for God and salvation, pointing them to Christ in all that we say and do!

In this passage, we see the difference in how the disciples saw children as opposed to how Jesus saw them. What the disciples saw as an interruption, Jesus saw as an opportunity! We pray that this message encourages you to view "interruptions" as opportunities to serve and spur others on in their walk with Christ.

As we begin this new series, we consider how in Jesus' earthly ministry He took so called "interruptions" and ministered to those he came in contact with. In the church today, we often view missions as short-term missions trips, yet neglect the communities in which we live. We pray this series challenges you to be mission-minded in your neighborhood!

In this parable, we see a picture of grace. Just as the King extended an invitation to the wedding feast, God extends an invitation to His table to us. We must only accept the invitation and be covered by the righteousness of Christ. We pray this message encourages you to lay aside any form of self-righteousness and trust fully in Jesus' sacrifice on your behalf!
