I talk about how annoying it is when celebrities appear on CNN to solve the world’s problems and how much more annoying it is when people tell artists to stick to their job. Maybe there’s a time and place is for all of that and maybe you're a lazy protester. Plus, new music by a bunch of bands I love: The National, Grizzly Bear and more.

I talk about the 16th anniversary of 9/11 and things I remember from 2001, how you should wear all the white after Labor Day you want, checking off items on your hard to find list, how insane it drives me when people mistake their feelings for knowledge and more.

I talk about how the Mayweather/McGregor fight was an important reminder there are still rules in a world that feels like it doesn't have any left. I wonder if Taylor Swift can pull off a reinvention and we listen to some the new Queens of the Stone Age and War on Drugs albums.

I jump around a lot here and wonder how many collabs is too many collabs (Supreme I'm talking about you), a little serious Nazi talk, athleisure is pointless fad, and metal song titles are so insane and hilarious and how accepting I'm not a music aficionado anymore :(. Also: thoughts on the new Harry Styles album.

Solo episode. I explain why Yeezy's are awful, awful shoes (and where to get better ones). I talk about the difference between stylish and trendy. I also get into the new Arcade Fire and why bands that take risks and venture out into the unknown and challenge you are better in the long run.

ALSO: New pins an stickers are now available!

Solo episode! Driving back from a gig in Arizona has given me time to more closely examine the importance of solo time and letting your thoughts wander uninterrupted. I try walking with no headphones for the first time in a while. I leave my phone and watch behind when I go eat. I decide to pull further back from social media and see how it impacts my mindset, creativity and overall stress and anxiety levels. I sign up for a meditation class. What else can I try? We'll see how these go first and plan rom there.

Joe Dosch is a great guy and a funny comedian. Joe is also a gay white male who grew up in a small town in South Dakota where his high school graduating class was 62 people. Needless to say his experience is unique. Joe didn't come out of the closet until his mid-twenties partly due to his environment and not exactly being sure what was going on in his mind. He shares what exactly that means with me and it we talk about how it has led him to a much happier life here in Los Angeles where he is living his dreams as a working comedian. Follow Joe on Twitter: @joedosch and check him out in Los Angeles at The Comedy Store where he just became a paid regular. Subscribe to Nick America on iTunes and rate and review the podcast.
