Brainstorming a community rebuild list
Scenario:
* A town was just destroyed by an F4 tornado (Tornadoville)
* Some people had home insurance, but most did not.
* Most small towns have members that are in construction
Helping your Communities with the Initial Rebuild
1. Allow Red Cross to come in and help.
a. Not Quick or Efficient
b. But they can still help
2. Allow any and ALL private organizations that are willing to help
a. Churches
b. Small non-profits
3. All town members:
a. Use their resources to help other
b. Basic damage control and cleanup.
i. Fencing
ii. Moderate home repair and land cleanup
iii. Remove large trees
iv. Give room and board to the new homeless
4. I don’t really need to spend any more time here, because there is a lot of resources for this.
How Do We Help with Post-Response Community Rebuilding?
1. Large call to action for all local and regional businesses
a. Larger businesses have more expendable funds
b. Local businesses will have the biggest gain from involvement
i. They become town heros
c. Businesses have more expendable funds will need to come up with cost-effective, efficient processes to cover needs
i. Clothing Shops: Basic clothing needs (not expensive trendy items)
ii. Grocery Stores and Restaurants: Basic food needs
Rice, oats, basic veggies
Temporary diet change, higher quality foods not necessary
Best connections to get cheap foods
iii. Construction Crews, Businesses, and Engineers: New Cheap Permanent Homes
Rebuilt
