Acmecast

On this jam-packed, oversized return to new material on the show, Stephen catches up Jermaine, Frank, Adam and Michael on the comic scene in the mountains of NC, the gang talks to Dan Slott in the first half of a two part interview about Spider-Island, they catch up on the highlights from last week's books and go through the usual motions with this week's stack!

While Stephen enjoys a much needed weekend away, we turn to the Acme Archives, where Jermaine, Ryan and John have tucked away an odyssey through the history of Earth's Mightiest Heroes, beginning with a day unlike any other and running up through Heroes Reborn!

New episodes will resume next Friday!

Jermaine, Stephen and Michael are joined by Instant Depths host Jay for a bachelor party in audio form! While there aren't too many shenanigans, the guys do talk on the new comic book projects that Acme has in the works and the trouble Jermaine may find himself in at San Diego Comic Con. On top of that the guys welcome back Avengers: Children's Crusade and Sixth Gun and find some reprinted gems on the shelves this week!

Dedicated to Jermaine's beard! Stephen is joined by Carly for the opening segment in which they revisit the earliest days of the Acme Wave Projector with a brief Love in the Time of Comics reprieve before Jermaine, Frank, Adam and Michael join in to discuss this week's comics, including the Death of Spider-man in Ultimate Comics Spider-man #160!

Jermaine, Stephen, Frank and Michael are joined for the entire episode by special co-host Sean Wheatley (Left Coast Love.com) who spends time catching up with the Acme gang and sharing his adventures in comic shops around the globe! Frank, Stephen and Jermaine give their initial reactions to Green Lantern from an overcrowded dinner! The Acme Adventure Hour makes a triumphant return with its second case! And they even find time to talk about the books on the shelf this week!

Jermaine, Stephen, Frank, Adam and Michael give their gut-reactions to the 40-some-odd DC titles announced to be a part of September's reboot, give a more unified critique of X-Men: First Class, try to figure out who exactly the Mystery Men are, and endeavor to throw and subsequently thwart a full-scale rebellion, all in the span of an hour!

The first case of the Acme Adventure Hour wraps up in the opening segment, followed by some hard-hitting comic industry commentary, initial, in the moment reactions to X-Men First Class immediately after the midnight screening, and Comics at the Table, going over every Flashpoint and Fear Itself tie-ins plus some independent standouts!

Editor's Note - Stephen apologizes to the beautiful and talented Jennifer Lawrence. He doesn't even know Victoria Justice is. Who is that? Really? Is she a comic book character?

Frank and Stephen embark on a brand-new adventure in the debut installment of the Acme Adventure Hour! Then the gang speculates even MORE on the future of DC Comics post-Flashpoint, talks about their favorite stories that they've never mentioned before on the waves of Acmecast and get spoilers all over with this week's THREE Green Lantern titles!

In the latest Acmecast, newspaper man Brian Ewing joins Jermaine, Stephen, Frank, Adam and Michael to discuss the current state of comics industry journalism, the gang guestimates on the outcome of Flashpoint a week after its begun, they review Alpha Flight, Gates of Gotham and the Flashpoint and Fear Itself tie-ins of the week, and Stephen does something after the send-off that his fiancee has declared the nerdiest thing ever!

In the double-sized anniversary special of Acmecast #25, Jermaine, Stephen, Frank and Adrian are joined by special guest Joe Scott of Mixed Tape Productions to recap Free Comic Book Day 2011, provide a more in-depth critique of Thor and talk up the week's books including Flashpoint #1, Chew #27 and MORE!
