Actor And Agent

In Actor and Agent podcast, we talk the industry from both sides as well as being in two different countries.  We discuss stories, talk to guests and give tips from our experience.

This week we are joined by an absolutely incredible human being... Viv Leacock! He talks about his beginnings, a sentence that changed it all for him in a workshop, working with Eddie Murphy on I-Spy and the audition process for such a huge film and more. Our part 2 will be in two weeks time where we delve more into Viv's background.

Our video interviews was edited by the ever so talented Joshua Young. We are eternally grateful ❤️

Snejina and Jen check in with each other and talk in more depth about the process of being submitted to getting an audition... and the realities.  This episode is definitely to demystify the process a lot more for actors. Turning down an audition is okay but this will give you an idea of all the work that's gone into it, to get you that opportunity.

Maria talks her journey getting into casting, from an actress herself and training in Hollywood. Really taking time to give advice she's learned from being in casting for six years and working with arguably the busiest office in Canada.

Jen and Snejina are graced with an absolute acting staple... Lee Arenberg! Of course Lee has been in Pirates of the Carribean (Ellooooo Poppet!!) but he's also been in a major regular on Once Upon a Time, worked on other great shows like Seinfield, Friends, Charmed, Action, All Star Strek TV shows, Angel and many many many more.

He talks about the industry from his side, how it's changing and how he focuses on being mindful. We loved talking to Lee and cannot wait to get him back on the podcast!

Talking to the one and only Ross Grant about his career, starting ActOnThis.tv, serial killers and invisibility! Both Jen and Snejina are so impressed with Ross' enthusiasm online, motivation and drive to share as much information to actors globally.  He's also just lovely and talented so it was a major win to have him on the podcast!

Ross Grant is a UK based actor from Urmston, Manchester.

Ross graduated from the Manchester Metropolitan University School Of Theatre in 2005. Since graduation, he's obtained credits in multiple BAFTA-winning TV series, including the critically acclaimed 'Don't Take My Baby', where he played the role of Mike.

Ross is also an established voiceover artist and an industry-leading high-performance mindset coach. He's the creator of the UK's largest professional and social network for actors - 'Act On This - The TV Actors' Network', as well as the world's first positive psychology program for actors - 'Bulletproof Actor'.

An episode where it's just Snejina and Jen talking over improving auditions, self tapes, funny and crazy audition stories and the challenge of intimacy on set (with one mini story!).  Lighthearted chat from both sides - we managed to capture some on video:
YouTube link here:

What a pleasure to have such a well spoken gent in our ears.  We talked the origins of his unusual name, his beginnings, the illustrious Julian Fellowes, Downton Abbey process, what it's like to be a dad and scar stories!

Joncie Elmore grew up in Cricklewood to Irish Parents from Newry.
Went to St Josephs RC Primary School Maida Vale followed by St James Independent School.
Trained at Manchester School of Theatre from 2007-2010.
Played John Pegg in Downton Abbey and Ted Stokes in The English Game.
Has worked with the BBC Radio Drama Company. Has also worked with the National Theatre and Shared Experience.

We get to chat with American actor Brian Villalobos and do some time travel.  After some major technical difficulties at the top of the episode... we talk about Brian's recommended IMDb credit from the reams of work he's done, Snejina's favourite BG casting credit, cultural differences, Tim Horton's... The is even an Accent Off!  Brian gives his best UK accent (which news flash... is awesome) and Jen goes with some U.S. accents.  Laughs to be had with this one!

Brian's bio:
Brian Villalobos is an award-winning actor, writer, and filmmaker who has appeared in more than 100 films, commercials, and stage productions, playing such varied roles as Macbeth, Gotham City Police Commissioner James Gordon, and (very briefly) Raphael, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle. He lives in Texas with his family, a phalanx of dogs and cats, and a borderline obsession with Paul Verhoeven's Robocop (1987).

Talking to Sinead Curry from the TV series Nancy Drew! Taking a deep dive into the magical world of Sinead!  Both Sinead & Snejina do this episode from their beds and we have some serious time travel going on.  We talk over Sinead's beginnings, Nancy Drew, friendships, voiceover, embarrassing stories, her beautiful jawline and essence ... and more!

Sinead Curry is an award-winning actor of Australian and Irish descent. Sinead Curry has starred in TV Shows such as The Haunting of Nancy Drew, iZombie and DC's Legends of Tomorrow, as well as numerous international TV pilots in development. Sinead Curry can also be seen in films featured at Festivals such as Palm Springs International, Montreal International, Kinofilm, Long Island Gay and Lesbian Film Festival, Tampa Gay and Lesbian Film Festival, Hollyshorts, Newport Beach, Raindance, Festival MIX Milano and Leeds International. Her work has also been seen in Australian Film Festivals Melbourne Fringe, Queer Screen, MetroScreen (Award Winner: Like Breathing), St Kilda and Sydney Film Festival.

This week is just Snejina and Jen again talking the ups and downs of the industry... honestly, how we get some escapism.  Escapism can be through TV, Film, a bath or a good old fashioned book about murder.  This episode might not sound lighthearted but there's a lot to enjoy about this... including Snejina singing mockingly about women's obsession with murder stories.
