I had the pleasure of speaking with Tara Geraghty, author of Making Cancer Fun. Honestly, we talked for hours and it was a challenge to tactfully edit because we talked about so much! We spoke about everything from her 6 year life crisis, to her daughter’s diagnosis with Neuroblastoma. We took a deep dive and all the ins and outs of how she chose to deal with treatment which eventually led to writing Making Cancer Fun. Later in the episode we explore the topics of GROWTH mindset, and gratitude while in a state of chaos. She spoke about how she couples her theater background with play therapy to help both her and her daughter get through it all. Tara offers listeners advice she wished someone had told her in the beginning and why self care was vital to her sanity.

She shares with us her personal connections to this organization, and why this volunteer work is so rewarding. We talk about how planning a special day is both for patients and their families in a time when their hearts are healing.
