In this video we’re talking a look at the Adafruit PyBadge. This is low-cost, easy to use dev board built for programing games on hardware. We’ve crammed a ton of goodies in this credit card size package.

It’s thin and small enough to make retro inspired handheld projects. It’s got a cortex M4, 1.8in TFT display with 8 buttons, accelerometer, light sensor and speaker. Also USB charging, JST ports and runs makecode, circuit python and arduino. On the back the header-socket is Feather Compatible so it works with Adafruit Feather-Wings. The bootloader makes it easy to switch between circuit python, makecode and arduino.
Makecode arcade is a block based editor for programming games.
It runs in the browser and features tutorials, lessons and demo games you can get started. The built-in tools makes developing games fun and easy, so it’s great for a classroom setting. It’s got a game engine, sprite editor, collision detection, particles and hardware controls. Upload code over USB using games from the community. You can use it as a prototyping tool to make simple games or use it to teach students.
Turn it into an interactive conference badge with Circuit python. Draw custom graphics and interfaces. Play audio clips and display animated GIFs. Adafruit libraries make it easy to program sensors with drivers and support. Use the Mu Python Editor to write code and and debug with the built-in serial console. Circuit Python makes programing hardware awesome with code plus community.
