In this week's show, Adam breaks down Penn State's start under Matt Campbell and how it compares to James Franklin's start last year. He explains how Jake Dickert turned Wake Forest from bottom dwellers into the best story in the sport. He shares what it was like on the call for Navy-Air Force and what makes a service academy game different from anything else in college football. And he looks at Nebraska, 5-0 with no ranked win in 10 years, and how the Huskers could take down defending champion Indiana. Adam played against Matt Rhule and interviewed him this spring.
When I was at Penn State, I played against Matt Rhule's Temple team. We walked into the Linc as touchdown favorites and walked out losers. This spring, I got to sit down with him and walk through the Nebraska building. Now his team is 5-0 and hosting the defending national champions on Saturday.
This weekend, I was on the call when Air Force hosted Navy. The box score tells a boring story. But the game felt nothing like a normal Saturday. The three-sided trophy, the game ball by parachute, cadets in uniform, and a field full of future officers. I've called games at all three academies and keep walking away with the same question. Is this something real or just a mirage built on tradition?
Two years ago, Wake Forest was the basement of the ACC. Now they're 13-5 under new coach Jake Dickert, with a win at No. 16 Louisville and a 57-3 rout of Stanford. I sat down with Dickert in the offseason, and found out how Wake Forest keeps doing more with less.
Penn State is 0-2 in the Big Ten, and Matt Campbell needs booster money to compete in this league. Saturday's game against a top-20 USC team is a key variable in what kind of roster he can build in 2027. I break down what this game means for Penn State, the run defense that gave up 413 yards at Northwestern, and how Campbell's start compares to James Franklin's last exit.
Penn State just lost their first game of the season. I break down whether their 3-0 start was ever real, or if we all got fooled. As a UMass football alum, I never thought I'd be saying this, but their run to 4-0 is not a fluke, and I explain exactly why. Arizona's Noah Fifita just became the program's all-time leading passer, and somehow, nobody's talking about him. Then, the ugliest moment of the week: Desmond Stevens' hit on Dante Moore, and the celebration that followed, that I think deserved a real punishment. Finally, Lincoln Riley's 4th & 7 decision blew up in his face, and I still think it was the right call.
Penn State just lost their first game of the season, and the box score doesn't come close to showing how bad they unraveled. I played for this program, so a 3-0 start isn't enough for me to look away from a loss like this. Some real problems showed up on Saturday, and I'm breaking down every one of them.
USC faced 4th & 7 at midfield. Down 7. Wwith 8 minutes left. Lincoln Riley went for it, didn't get it, and Oregon scored to go up two scores. Everyone's asking why he didn't just punt. Adam breaks down why the analytics actually back Riley up here, why the alternative wasn't nearly as safe as it looks, and why I'd make the same call in his shoes.
Noah Fifita just passed Nick Foles as Arizona's all-time leading passer, and somehow nobody is talking about him. Two years ago he was in the mix for the Maxwell, Walter Camp, and Davey O'Brien awards. Adam break down why he's the most underrated quarterback in college football, and why he's built to play on Sundays.
UMass went 0-12 last year and was picked dead last in the MAC this season. Four games into 2026, they're 4-0 and picked up their first ever Big Ten victory.
