April is Autism Awareness Month.

And now Adam Harris, CEO of As I AM wants to highlight the positives that come with saying "yes" for a change:

Too often autistic people face invisible barriers because of how the world works and the judgement and attitudes of others. They are so used to being told ‘No’.  We want people to say ‘Yes’ for a change: Yes to employment, Yes to education and Yes to community inclusion.

Adam Harris was born with Aspergers Syndrome, a condition on the high-functioning end of the Autism Spectrum.

He considers himself extremely fortunate. He benefitted from early intervention, allowing him to lead an extremely full life today.

At least 1 in 65 people in Ireland are autistic and nearly 300,000 people have an immediate family member on the autism spectrum.

Adam spoke to Alison Curtis on Weekend Breakfast all about the new Autism Acceptance campaign:
