May 09, 2020Tim Ask Why am I doing thisToday Tim shared with me thoughts on how fear relates to a certain mindset. We spoke about fear through the lens of surfing and how whatever mindset we bring into the water with us dictates the experience… and Tim talks about how this is true with everything in life… in or out of the water. If we go surf and we start working about sharks, or getting the perfect wave, or other people in the lineup, or whatever the conditions might be we are taking ourselves out of the experience and defeating what the purpose is all about in the first place. Tim brings up a really interesting question to ask yourself… “why am I doing this in the first place?” this simple yet profound question can be a compass or north star back to what truly matters....more18minPlay

May 08, 2020Nelson Doing what you always wanted to doNelson has started a podcast called Bronco Bones - which is all about the Denver Bronco’s football team. I love Nelson’s story so much because this is a story about someone who is stepping into his fears to achieve a dream, to do something that he always wanted to do. Nelson studied journalism in college and now all these years later he is returning to his early passion of journalism through the medium of Podcasting. To start something new is scary, as anyone who creates anything and puts it out into he world to judge is a scary thing. I have found that in life, the older we get we sometimes stop taking risks and we stop trying new things. I have found this to be true in my life until I decided to do what Nelson is doing with his podcast and force myself to do new things each year and expose myself in raw and vulnerable ways. The power of this is remarkable… what it does for the human soul to step into something that feels scary and daunting but to do it anyways because it aligns with who you are at your core is paramount. As Nelson describes in this podcast… recording his interview podcasts is exhilarating and an amazing feeling. I am so excited for Nelson and what he is doing.
