June 20, 2020Henry What does it mean to love someone who is an addictHenry is writing a book called Hometown Heroin that documents his struggles with this ex girlfriend. We spoke today on our podcast call about substance abuse, enablement, addiction, our preconceived perceptions of drug dens and dealers and what it means to love someone and ultimately have to let them go. Henry spends time with us reflecting on what he did right and what he did wrong as he tries to sort though difficult situations. He talks about how when things started out he could never have imagined that he would have gone down the path that he ended up on. He says it was analogous of a fun house of mirrors in a circus where the deeper he went into the maze the more confusing and distorted things became. We talk about the economic hardships and loss of identity and purpose in America today. Read Henry’s stories that he is forming into a novel here: https://hometownheroin.com...more51minPlay

June 19, 2020Dizzy Music to reach his sonDizzy has gone through a difficult relationship with the woman that had his child. The hard part is that when the couple split up, Dizzy’s son when with his mother and even though it is supposed to be a 50/50 split of custody and time the hard reality for Dizzy is that he is not getting the time that he desperately wants with his son. Dizzy’s heartache to spend more time with his son led him to write a song for him in hopes that one day his boy would hear his music and know that he was always thinking of him. Dizzys fear is that time is running out, day by day the world passes us by and each day that slips into night is another day that he hasn’t been able to be there with his son. NOTE: There is one cuss word that may be offensive to listeners in Dizzy’s song featured at the end of the podcast. June 18, 2020Randy Killing FearRandy is an independent film maker, actor and someone with a positive - uplifting message to spread to the world. Randy talks about how everyone experiences fear when they get put in a situation or environment that they don’t know or understand. But he says that life is analogous to riding a bicycle, at first it is hard and you need training-wheels and you fall off and it is scary. But then you get it, it kicks in and you find your balance and grace and next thing you know you are winning races. He reminds us that 99% of the things we are afraid of never happens and we spend so much time and energy working about it instead of just getting out there and living it. Talk to your fear and your fear will become afraid of you! Don’t let your fear become your destiny. I love this, Randy had so many amazing things to share.
