June 07, 2020Claire Focus on your surroundingsClaire was once caught in a large crowd that turned into a frenzy when someone thought there was a gunshot. People panicked, the crowd began to run and Claire felt how something can escalate into a chaotic situation quickly. Her fears are being realized every day these past few weeks as protests have taken over the streets all over the world for the police killing of George Floyd in the streets of Minneapolis. These large crowds of people can feel extremely scary, i have experienced it myself so I know what Claire is talking about first hand. Claire reminds us that when we do find ourselves in situations that are causing anxiety and fear to take a look around at your surroundings, breath and work on your mindset. It is also interesting that Claire does a lot of writing, poetry, blogging and script writing for TV and movies. We have had lots of guests come onto the podcast this year and talk about how important writing is to work out their fears and shed light on the unknown and the unconscious. Check out Claire’s website: https://www.lavvendermoon.com/ and her book of poetry from her time in New York found here: https://www.amazon.com/Sweven-vision-dream-Claire-Alvarez-ebook/dp/B073V4FY2C and Photographer http://izzyph.com...more11minPlay
June 06, 2020Demarquis Replacing images of fearDemarquis shares his story about the fear that he had to face, divorce. On one hand it is hard and sad because of the toll that divorce takes on the human heart and soul. Marriage is a commitment to ourselves and another person that we will always be there for that person. So what happens when it doesn’t work out the way we intended it to? What does this do to us emotionally, mentally and physically? We ask ourselves if we failed. But then there is another side to it, a better side to it. Demarquis tells us about how important it is to face your fears to create new opportunities for your life. If we don’t face our fears we are stuck in the same place. He reminds us that by facing our fears we create new opportunities for our lives. One tactic that Demarquis recommends is to write down your fears… get them out into the open. June 05, 2020Morhaf Thoughts on mortality and making every day countMorhaf is a doctor living in Seattle which is one of the places in the united states that was hit extremely hard by Covid-19. Morhaf also was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer, his lungs where filled with fluid which made it nearly impossible to breath. Listening and talking to Morhaf made me realize that he cares so much about so many things. It was as though he knows the weight of every passing second - as though each moment was a grain of sand yet contained the weight of the world. He does not want to be forgotten and therefore he packs everything into each moment of his life to be contributing to make the world a better place. Since he is living with his eyes on death each day it also means that he is living each day with the utmost purpose that he can find around him. This lead him to be compelled to march with the BLM protests that took place in Seattle. Please support Morhaf’s books because they sound fascinating.
