In episode one of the 10 week Rooted series we consume Psalm 1 and I get back to the basics, giving practical tools to reclaim stability in your faith.
As Paul concludes years of missional work in Asia minor, he sums up what its all been about and gives a few thoughts on life in Christ and the power of the blood of Jesus. Blood is an interesting metaphor in the scripture and if we are honest a bit odd and hard to understand, but if we look deep we will find a power greater than any force in the universe.
We live in a world that is moving way too fast. Few of us have any margin to slow down and enjoy the best of life. In this talk Pastor Adam Stadtmiller looks at the restful culture of heaven and gives some biblical perspectives on slowing down.
Paul’s 2nd missionary journey to the Barbaric North (Macedonia) revealed a group of churches that would eventually become a lifeline for him as he toiled in a Roman prison. These were some of the most poor people in the region, but they never let their poverty define them. Instead, these people become some of the most generous ever mentioned in God’s word. In this message we seek to find tools to release generosity into every area of our life, not just the financial.
The first Christ followers had a good problem. Both Jews and Gentiles (or Goyim in Yiddish) were becoming Christ followers, but each had different needs, perspectives and traditions. Paul was a chameleon, an artist, a master at being able to reach any person of any audience. This ability to evangelically cross pollinate seems to be a lost skill in the fractured world we live in. In this message I talk about how to effectively communicate the gospel to a wide variety of people no matter their background.
What does a Cyborg from the future and being filled with the Holy Spirit have to do with each other? The answer is found in how we show up before God? Do we, like the Teminator show up naked and free from our otherworldly attachments or do we come to God with a bunch of stuff and conditions. Sound interesting? If so join Simon the Sorcerer, Sarah Connor, a group of Samaritans and the Terminator on a journey into finding God.
I’m amazed at Jesus insistence on using broken and hurting people to become his standard bearers. Stephen was an avg. guy who God called into glory. Today’s world is changing. What will it take to go forward in the same spirit of fullness that Stephen walked in? Click here to find out!
