Maja Tait, Mayor of Sooke joins the program to address challenges that Sooke has been facing regarding the lack of certain first responder services, notably, ambulance services. Mayor Tait acknowledges that this issue has been arising due to the growth of the Sooke community and the service is shared among various local municipalities thus stretching the service thin.
James Horncastle, Edward and Emily McWhinney Professor in International Relations, SFU chats with Adam about the illegal invasion of Ukraine conducted by Russia. Professor Horncastle notes upon Russia’s mentality has been shifting as it appears that invaders are becoming more brutal as they have been targeting public leaders and more civilians throughout Ukraine. Professor Horncastle also acknowledges that Russia has been utilizing misinformation domestically in order to keep public support for Russia’s objectives.
