This is part of a year long reading of the Bible chronologically in a harmonized format.
Obadiah 1:1-21
- The vision against Edom: their pride and violence against Jacob will be repaid, for they stood aside when Jerusalem was sacked.
- The day of the Lord is near. Edom will be cut off, Jacob will possess the inheritance, and the kingdom will be the Lord's.
Psalms 82:1 - 83:18
- God stands in the council and judges the rulers who defend the unjust and will not rescue the weak.
- Asaph asks God not to be silent as nations conspire against Israel, and to make them know that He alone is Most High over all the earth.
2 Corinthians 3:1 - 4:6
- Paul needs no letter of recommendation. They are his letter, written by the Spirit, and the new covenant ministry of the Spirit exceeds the glory that shone on Moses.
- He does not lose heart. The god of this age blinds unbelievers, and he proclaims Jesus as Lord, with light shining in hearts to give the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.
