Matthew 8:18-22
- Jesus warns a scribe the Son of Man has no place to rest; another disciple is told to let the dead bury their dead and follow Him.
- Jesus emphasizes the cost of discipleship over family obligations.
Luke 9:57-62
- Jesus tells one follower He has no home; another must proclaim the kingdom instead of burying his father.
- A third is warned that looking back after starting makes one unfit for God's kingdom.
