Denise interviews Gary Mendell, Chairman of Shatterproof. Mr. Mendell founded Shatterproof (then known as Brian’s Wish) to honor the memory of his son, Brian, who lost his battle with addiction, with the promise to spare other families the anguish of this disease.

During the interview Mr. Mendell reveals some staggering statistics regarding the use and abuse of drugs in our country and talks about his passion to band together all who have the same passion to create change and a cohesive “force” to help drive policy, laws, and perceptions regarding addiction in this country.

Mr. Mendell is a member of the Clinton Health Matters Initiative, Clinton Global Initiative, A charter member of President Obama’s Better Building Challenge, UJA Federation Campaign Steering Committee, Industry Real Estate Finance Advisory Council and The Real Estate Roundtable. Mr. Mendell received his B.S. from Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration and his MBA with diwtinction from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
