This week the discussion is about how men recover from addictions and if their concept of recovery and how to achieve it is different than the process for women’s recovery. Dan Griffin, MA, has worked in the mental health and addictions field for over seventeen years. In early 2010 he started a consulting, training, and speaking business, Griffin Recovery Enterprises, Inc. He served as the first state drug court coordinator for the Minnesota Drug Court Initiative and was also the judicial branch’s expert on addiction and recovery. Denise discusses with Mr. Griffin, his groundbreaking book “A Man’s Way Through the Twelve Steps” as well as his ideas on how addiction treatment and therapy for men delves into different issues than those for women.
