Honorable Member of Madina, Francis-Xavier Kojo Sosu has initiated a new bill in Parliament to amend the Criminal and Other Offences (Procedure) Act, 1960 (Act 30) to introduce community service and Bond of Good Behavior as an alternative to the traditional custodial sentences and fines for petty crimes generally referred to as misdemeanors where the punishment for the offense is not already specified or provided for. Community service in the context of criminal justice refers to a form of alternative sentencing or punishment that involves individuals who have committed offenses performing unpaid work or service for the benefit of the community

Family of the late former President, Professor John Evans Fiifi Atta Mills, has requested President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to provide them with the late president’s autopsy report. They expressed concern over the unknown cause of his death and emphasized the importance of obtaining the report for closure and historical record. The appeal was made by Nana Enyimfua III, representing the family, during a visit to the president in Accra on Saturday. They hope to receive the report before President Akufo-Addo’s term concludes

Ama Owusuaa Foundation, a non-governmental organization, has awarded scholarships to four tertiary students in Asante Akyem Wenchi in the Ashanti region. A grief-stricken Akpabli family in Abenyinase in the Agotime Ziope District of the Volta Region, is demanding justice for their three children tragically killed by a vehicle owned by a lotto company. According to the family, the company’s vehicle from Afloa to Ho, crashed into their house, claiming the lives of twins aged 2 and their 3-year-old sister. During a Parliamentary debate, MP for South Dayi, Rockson Nelson Dafeamekpor said that per the 1992 Constitution, the use of indelible ink was necessary for the smooth conduct of elections, and its removal is a breach.
