The Minister for Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum says textbooks for Ghanaian schools would be ready by the beginning of the new term. Following the introduction of the new curriculum, basic schools in the country have been without textbooks for three years of the new curriculum.

The National Identification Authority (NIA) has responded to reports about the possession of a Ghana card by Aisha Huang, a Chinese national tagged as a “galamsey queen or kinpin” by Ghanaians. NIA in a statement explained that it does not have the name Aisha Huang captured in its database.

Rev. The Krachi East Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) and Dean of MMDCEs in the Oti Region, Francis Kofi Okesu, has been found dead in a hotel in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region. The lifeless body of the MCE was found in a room he had booked, according to police sources. Police have begun investigations into the death.

The Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) has assured students of the University of Ghana (UG) and the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) that their interests will be protected in the ongoing saga of unaccredited programmes. The assurance follows the release of the 2021 Auditor-General's Report, which indicated that over 600 programmes run by the two leading universities were without accreditation.

Two brothers have inflicted cutlass wounds on a farmer, Ibrahim Indago, at Atta Ne Atta in the Asante Akyem South Municipality of the Ashanti Region. Narrating his ordeal to Adom News correspondent Isaac Amoako, Mr Indago said the two brothers attacked him following a misunderstanding over a goat.

Some six persons, who allegedly led the destruction at the Northern Regional office of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Tamale, have been detained after reporting themselves to the regional police. They are currently in custody assisting with investigations and expected to be put before court on Tuesday.

The Ghana Police Service has commenced investigations into circumstances leading to the death of a man who was allegedly attacked by one of the lions at the Accra Zoo. The incident, according to the Ghana Forestry Commission, happened on Sunday, August 28, 2022, at about 12:00 after officials of the Accra Zoo, on a routine patrol, noticed the lifeless body of the deceased in the lion’s enclosure.
