  • Season 4, Ep. 31: FAD# 23 — Declaring Expectations & Throwing Away Boomerangs
As we approach the frosty cold and near the end of the year, we often use this time to reflect on our past — and in this Fifi After Dark (FAD), the "Adult-ish" host does just that.

In this new episode, host Afiya goes it alone for another liquor-fueled moment of self-reflection as she laments over the words of relationship coach, Alison Wellington of Align with Alison.

Doing a call back to S4, Ep. 27, the podcaster speaks to her own experience with boomerang dating and follow-up situationships and what she's learned from her failed dating trials.

Managing expectations in a relationship is hard, but listen on as she talks (and maybe even slurs?) through how she was able to overcome some of her anxiety on the topic and make demands in her relationships — whether she actually got them is another story.

Listen on for her slightly less-than-sober thoughts and as always, make sure to share, comment, like, and rate!

  • Season 4, Ep. 30: Grieving & Mourning w. Vincent Bernard – Adult-ish Quickie
In this episode "Adult-ish", host Afiya A. is joined by co-host Vincent Bernard to do a call back to 'Ep. 25: FAD #22 — Giving Yourself Time to Grieve Relationships Like an Adult-ish' and our dear Vincent takes the reins to talk about his experience with grief and mourning.

Dubbing this episode an "Adult-ish Quickie," Vincent speaks to a recent loss of his and the thoughts behind having to grieve a loss in its entirety — from the physical loss to the emotional gap that death and/or the end of a relationship brings.

In this moment of pure vulnerability, Vincent takes listeners on a transitive journey as he processes the death of a loved one, talks to the respect of allowing individuals time to process a loss, and then learning how to move on.

Relationships may end, either through death or change of circumstance, but it's always important to take the time to grieve the situation.

While a bit somber, we hope this quickie makes you a little more thankful for all those around you and all those you carry with you — however best you choose to carry them.

  • Season 4, Ep. 29: Handling This 2020 Post-Election Season Like an Adult
The 2020 Election season has come but it's not-so-quiet gone...

In this (mildly delayed) episode of "Adul-tish," host Afiya is joined by co-host Vincent Bernard to discuss their feels about President-Elect Joe Biden, Vice President-Elect Kamala Harris, and the Don's attempts to keep them out of the office.

The two mull over the relief that's been washed over, simmering rage that's bubbling over, and what it will mean to have things "go back to normal," once Trump and all his shenanigans have finally removed from the White House.

  • Season 4, Ep. 28: Handling This 2020 Election Season Like an Adult
*Note: This episode of "Adult-ish" was recorded a week before the Election Day results*

The 2020 Election season has been one filled with bigotry, racism, social injustice, and just plain ol' stupidity — and we're getting into it.

In this overdue episode of "Adult-ish," host Afiya and co-host Vincent Bernard get together to discuss the circus that our democracy has turned into and the drive to vote more than ever before.

Between tackling the current sitting President, to discuss the "gift of whiteness" given to many of the ethnic groups as seen in the current iteration of "Fargo," the duo speak on the divided country we're all living in as well as the real reason Trump supports are waving their banners high in his name.

Take a listen — and be sure to return when Part 2 is up and running following the Election results!

  • Season 4, Ep. 26: Attractive Friends & Dating Stories With Jen the Hot Mess Mom
There are many reasons to consider a person a friend, but are looks one of them? For some, this may actually be the case!

In this episode of "Adult-ish," host Afiya tackles the topic of an Insta meme with friend and fellow Aquarian, Jen aka the original Hot Mess Mom.

The two HS friends mull over the idea of maintaining friendships due to a physical — and possibly romantic — attraction. Do you hang on to friends because you're attracted to them? Do you often find yourself becoming attracted to your friends? And can you maintain a friendship once you've passed the point of attraction and something else has happened?

The duo attempt to tackle all these questions as well as dive into the dating pitfalls that may come up when looking at friends in a new light.

With a topic so loaded, don't be surprised if this conversation continues in another episode!

  • Season 4, Ep. 25: FAD #22 — Giving Yourself Time to Grieve Relationships Like an Adult-ish
In this latest episode, "Adult-ish" host Afiya A. brings back the true feel of her "Fifi After Dark" segments with a liquored-up lesson on grief and mourning.

In these somber times where death and devastation is all around us due to COVID-19 and racial injustice, host Afiya reminds everyone that we can mourn more than just the loss of someone in the physical space — but in the emotional space, too.

While reminiscing on her own recent grieving process, the pseudo adult expresses the hurt and pain one feels when a relationship (be it familial, friendly, or romantic) is over and how society never really allows us to run the gamut of emotions in that respect.

Listen on for her slightly less-than-sober thoughts and as always, make sure to share, comment, like, and rate!
