  • AIE 77: Retire in Your 20s With Real Estate, Yes, It's Possible

If you're looking for a relatable couple who was able to retire VERY early, then this episode is for you. From discovering FIRE until retirement was only 3 years, and they took the expense shaving to the extreme. Along the way, people wondered WTF they were doing. Favorite Quote: "From the outside looking in, we looked poor, even though we had more money than we had ever had in our lives." You will walk away with some actionable ways to get control of your finances and retire early, if that's what you want!

Our guests today are James and Emily from Rethink the Rat Race. James and his wife, Emily, became FI-curious in 2016 and were quickly drawn in by real estate investing. The two of them bought their first rental property in 2017 and within two short years, they had 10 units. These 10 units generated enough cash flow for them to quit their 9-5 jobs and travel perpetually in their late 20s. Since then, James and Emily have focused on transitioning a few of their units into short-term rentals and creating systems that allow them to travel while also managing their portfolio.
