गणेश चतुर्थी

भारत में सबसे लोकप्रिय देवताओं में से एक गणेश या गणपति प्रभु हैं जो भगवान शिव और देवी पार्वती के पुत्र हैं।

भाद्रपद शुक्ल की चतुर्थी, बुद्धि, अच्छे भाग्य व समृद्धि के परमेश्वर भगवान श्री गणेशजी के जन्मदिन के रूप में ‘गणेश चतुर्थी’ के नाम से मनाई जाती है।

ऐसा कहा जाता है कि इस पर्व पर भगवान गणेश धरती पर अपने भक्तों के लिए आते हैं और उनकी समस्याओं और बाधाओं का विनाश करते हैं।

हिंदू धर्म के अनुसार सभी शुभ अवसरों पर, चाहे वह एक शादी हो या धार्मिक समाहरोह, सब से पहले भगवान गणेशजी की पूजा की जाती है ।

नई कंपनी, नई गाड़ी, नई दुकान व नया मकान का उद्घाटन भगवान श्री गणेशजी का मंगल पाठ पढ़ कर किया जाता है।

ऐसी मान्यता है कि जो भी सच्चे भाव से गणेशजी की प्रार्थना करता है उसकी इच्छा को भगवान जरूर पूरा करते हैं।

इस पर्व के आने से पहले ही इसकी धूम धाम से तैयारी शुरू हो जाती है।

बाज़ारों में छोटी बड़ी मिट्टी की मूर्तियाँ बेची जाने लगती हैं।

लोग गणेश जी को अपने घर में विराजमान करते हैं|

प्रतिदिन सबसे पहले दूध और गंगा जल से उनको स्नान कराते हैं, फिर कुमकुम, लाल जवाकुसुम और दुर्वा से गणेशजी की मूर्ती को सजाते हैं|

लड्डू, मोदक चढ़ाते हैं और अंत में उनकी आरती करते हैं।

रोज रात को भजन कीर्तन भी किया जाता है।

प्राचीन ऐतिहासिक साहित्यों के अनुसार गणेश उत्सव महाराष्ट्र में छत्रपति शिवाजी महाराज ने स्थापित किया था|

मगर पेशवों के राज्य तक यह पर्व केवल घर पर परिवार जनों द्वारा मनाया जाता था|

सन् अठारा सौ तिरानवे में स्वतंत्रता-सेनानी और समाज सुधारक लोकमान्य तिलक ने इसे सावजनिक महत्सोव में रूपांतर किया| “सब के भगवान” के रूप में पूजे जाने वाले गणेशजी के पर्व को उहोंने ब्राह्मणों और अन्य लोगों के बीच के अंतर को मिटाने और ब्रिटीश राज्य के विरुद्ध लोगों को संयुक्त करने के लिए प्रचलित किया|

आज कल बड़े बड़े पंडालों में व मंदिरों में गणेशजी की पूजा का आयोजन किया जाता है जहाँ लाखों की तादाद में उनके भक्त उनके दर्शन करने आते हैं।

यह पर्व 10-11 दिन तक चलता है और समारोह के बाद भगवान की मूर्ति को स्वच्छ जलाशय में विसर्जित किया जाता है|

"गणपति बप्पा मोरिया, मंगल मूर्ति मोरिया " कहते हुए लोग अपने प्रिय भगवान को विदा करते हैं।

आज कल तालाबों और समुद्रों को दूषण से बचाने के लिए लोग अपने घर में चाँदी की मूर्ती को स्तापित करते हैं|

यह पर्व सब की मंगल कामनाओं की प्राप्ती का प्रतीक है|

Ganesh Chaturthi

Lord Ganesh, or Ganpati, is one of the most popular gods in India and is the son of the God Shiva and Goddess Parvati.

The birth of Lord Ganesh, the God of Wisdom, Good Fortune, and Prosperity is celebrated on Bhadrapada Shukla Chatuthi (fourth day of the waxing moon period).

It is said that on this day Lord Ganesh visits his devotees on earth to remove all their obstacles and problems.

According to Hindu beliefs, Lord Ganesh is worshipped first on all auspicious occasions like weddings or other religious occasions.

The inauguration of any new company, new store, new house, or new car is done by reciting the prayers of Lord Ganesh.

It is believed that Lord Ganesh grants the wishes of all those who pray to him sincerely.

The preparation for this festival starts almost months before the actual celebration.

Small and large idols of Lord Ganesh are sold in the markets.

People install these clay idols in their houses.

They worship the Lord by first cleaning the idol with milk or Ganges water, then decorate it with Kumkum ("red colored powder"), hibiscus flowers, and Durva, and offer Ladoos ("Indian sweet") and Modak.

Every night prayers are performed and songs are sung to celebrate this festival.

According to old historical records, Ganesh Utsav was first established by Shivaji Maharaj in Maharashtra.

During the Peshva rule, this festival was only celebrated in the home.
