البعض يعتبر الموسيقية اللبنانية فيروز المطربة العربية الأشهر التي مازالت على قيد الحياة. حتى أن المعجبين يستطردون للقول بأنها أحد أفضل الموسيقيين العرب في جميع الأوقات. يستمد اللبنانيون شعورا كبيرا بالفخر من أعمالها، و ويتم سماع أغنياتها في جميع أنحاء البلاد.

إضافة الى اسمها الفني فيروز، تعرف بين العديد من المعجبين باسم "جارة القمر" أو "السفيرة الى النجوم". اسمها عند الولادة كان نهاد وديع حداد ، وولدت في لبنان عام 1935. من المثير للدهشة أنها كانت خجولة في طفولتها، رغم أنها كانت تلقى الاهتمام بسبب صوتها الرائع عندما أصبحت في العاشرة من عمرها.

كانت تغني عادة في العروض المدرسية، وجذب صوتها انتباه محمد فليفل الذي كان يدرس في المعهد اللبناني و الذي قد كون اسم كبير لنفسه كموسيقي. تبنى موهبتها و دربها. أثناء قيامه بتدريبها ، سمع صوتها رئيس محطة راشين اللبنانية حليم الرومي، وتنبه فردية نوع هذا الصوت لأنه ملائم لكلا أسلوبي الموسيقى الشرقية و الغربية. يعود الفضل للرومي في اختيار اسمها الفني.

تزوجت فيروز من عاصي الرحباني، الذي التقت به أثناء عملها في محطة الإذاعة. بدأت ككيمياء فنية و تحولت الى الزواج عام 1955. انجبا أربعة أبناء ، حيث أصبح أحدهم الملحن الجديد الخاص بها بعد انفصالها عن عاصي بشكل فني بعد أن بدأ يعاني من مشكلات صحية خطيرة.

Fairouz

Some consider Lebanese musician Fairouz to be the most well-known Arabic singer currently alive. Fans even go so far to say that she is one of the most well-known Arabic musicians of all time. The Lebanese derive great pride from her work, and her songs receive much airplay throughout the country.

In addition to her stage name Fairouz, she is also known by many fans as the “Neighbor to the Moon” or “Ambassador to the Stars.” Her birth name is Nouhad Wadi Haddad, and she was born in Lebanon in 1935. Surprisingly, she was very shy as a child, although she was already receiving attention for her incredible voice by the time she was ten years old.

She sang often for school shows, and her voice caught the attention of Mohammed Fleyfel, who taught at the Lebanese Conservatory and had already made a big name for himself as a musician. He took her under her wing and trained her. While he was training her, Lebanese Ration Station head Halim el Roumi had the chance to hear her voice and noted how unique it was because it lent itself well to both Eastern and Western music styles. El Roumi is credited with selecting the singer’s stage name.

Fairouz married Assi Rahbani, who she met while working at the radio station. It started as an artistic chemistry and moved into marriage in 1955. They had four sons, one of whom became her new composer after she split artistically with Assi shortly after he began having serious health problems.
