Losing your eye sight can be a horrifying thought and it's easy to think that your life is over, along with your independence and your self-respect.

That is most definitely not the case and RNIB's Sight Loss Advice Service is there for anyone going through this and for people who are already living with a visual impairment.

RNIB Connect Radio's Allan Russell spoke to Ian Beverley, who is part of the service's telephone helpline, to find out what help is on offer and how anyone can turn their life around, despite losing their sight.
