Alzheimer's Disease was first identified more than 100 years ago. Yet despite this century-spanning awareness by medical communities across the globe, the precise physiologic mechanisms triggering the development of this disease are still unknown. Advocacy groups such as the Alzheimer's Association play a critical role in advancing new science and supporting those affected both directly and indirectly by this devastating illness.
