  • AB #493 | A Quick, Easy and Inexpensive Formula for Creating Content that Sells!
In the episode of the Affiliate Buzz, James Martell talks to Arlene about a quick, simple and inexpensive way for creating content that sells!
Most affiliates don't have a problem understanding the Affiliate Marketing business, but where they are lacking, is in content creation. Today we cannot just throw content together and hope for the best. It must be quality all while reducing the costs. If content is an area you are struggling with, this podcast will open your eyes to re-purposing existing content.
A Formula for Creating Content that Sells
Arlene talks about brainstorming with a client to come up with an foundational feature article, where they used tips that were really important for the reader to know. They talk about the amount of research that goes into it, the length of the article and handing it off to the writer. Once you have a system in place to do this, you will never look back or be short of content.
One Article Becomes 10 Killer Pieces of Content
James talks about how we use this foundational research from this one piece of content, and create content that can now be used on the website, a newsletter, on YouTube, as an ebook, a PowerPoint Presentation on SlideShare, a book on Amazon, as a podcast distributed to Spreaker, Stitcher, iTunes, ranking in Google, ranking in Google images and of course distributed through all social media.
The Structure That Bring It All Together
James and Arlene talk about the structure of the feature article, so it can be used as book chapters, bullet points in the info-graphic, sections in the powerpoint, the talking points in the podcast, the video breaks etc. They discuss the number of graphics that are needed, and what it costs to create the 10 types of content.
    Monetizing
Every single peice of content that is created is designed with a call to action. Of course this content needs to sell, so they talk about how to encorporate the affiliate programs into the content, so a commission is paid. Arlene talks about the "best offers" page, where the client showcases ALL his offers in one page, so all the content created, lands the reader onto the page where they can make a purchase. All roads lead to the best offers page. The client is only going to need 2-3 sales to break even on the content, but the content will continue to sell for him for many years to come.

She thought she would go into book publishing, but was placed in the “software” division where she embarked on her summer project, launching their affiliate programs! As time went on, she wore many hats in the affiliate marketing space, and learned all aspects of the business, and by 2017 became the owner and CEO of Partnercentric.
Building a Trend Setting Successful Remote Team
The power of employing a remote team that all work from home is becoming a popular working model. Inc magazine claims "One-Third of Employees Will Be Working From Home in 10 Years." Following this trend has made it imperative to have checks and balances in place, and made them conscientious about communication and focus. They offer a flexible work environment and a family first approach. Stephanie claims "people that work from home actually get more done and the team is more intentional about what work needs to be done".
    Remote Teams Best Practices
How productive can you be working remotely was a big question. Because of technology, the team has deliberate and intentional communication and can easily collaberate on projects through video conferencing, screen sharing, and often meet face to face as well through regional meetups. There is accountability for the work done each week, and dedicated deep work time and sharing the learning to increase productivity.
OPM/Agency of the Year 2018 from Affiliate Summit
Stephanie says the award meant so much as she was being recognized by her peers. As an agency she is able to build virtual relationships and give her clients the advantage of having account managers who have built a community where they can share their knowledge base and opportunities. You get collective knowledge so your opportunity is unique and efficient.

  • AB #485 | Build an Advocacy Website to Share Your Story, with Arlene Martell, Author of Getting Adam Back
In the episode of the Affiliate Buzz, James and Arlene Martell talk about advocacy websites and sharing the knowledge and information about a specialized subject you have advanced knowledge about.  Arlene shares her story of building her own advocacy website from her own knowledge and experience, and shares how you can do the same.
Our Story and The Story of Adam
At age 4 Adam had his first seizure which quickly escalated into Lennox Gastaut Syndrome, a severe form of epilepsy. Having tried 6 different medications and experimental meds, Adam continued to deteriorate, having hundreds of absence seizures a day, and tonic clonic convulsive seizures 4-5 times a week plus drop seizures. It was heart-wrenching to watch him go through this, until at age 8, we found the Ketogenic diet. Within days, Adam was completely seizure free, off all his medications, and starting to learn and enjoy life again. Today, Adam is 30 years old, and we are forever thankful for having found the diet that saved his life.
Who are you an Advocate For? Do You Have a Story To Tell?
An advocate is defined as "a person who publicly supports or recommends a particular cause or policy." For us, we quickly realized that other families who have children with epilepsy, did not know about the diet, and doctors are not willing to even discuss it with parents as an option. This information, so life-changing, could not be kept a secret, which is why the ebook was written.
When we shared our story, we had countless stories pouring in from other parents who had never heard about the Ketogenic diet. They are looking for hope, from someone who has been in the same situation before them, understand their struggle and have come through with a successful outcome.
Who Can Benefit From Your Knowledge?
More people than you may think! If you have had challenges, and can help others by sharing your story - do it! It is rewarding far more than you can imagine. It is sometimes tough to share your story, but always remember, others are looking for answers to the same problem, and what you can share could be life-changing for them.
How Can You Truly Help Others?
Start with an advocacy website and write blogs. I wrote a book, which shared our story, and I give it away for free, but you could sell it as well. We also did a limited number of podcasts, because interviewing someone on their area of expertise is extremely powerful when you hear their story in their own words.
    In This Episode You Learn:

    * What is an advocacy website
    * The benefits of building an advocacy website
    * The personal story of Adam and our family's struggles
    * What is the Ketogenic diet
    * How a podcast is beneficial to accompany your website
    * What kind of content you need for an advocacy website
    * Why you need courage to actually make it happen
    * Why being an advocate can make massive change in the lives of others

Want To Build An Advocacy Website?

Building Your Lifestyle Business That Works Even While You Sleep, in 2018
Just like Zig Ziglar defined a 7-step goal setting course which helped and inspired millions realize their dreams, James Martell lays a 10-step formula which when followed to the last detail would help building your lifestyle business during the coming year. He says when building your lifestyle business, selecting the right topic and creating a content calendar are the basic building blocks in order to lay down a strong foundation. If you focus on learning and executing the fundamentals and avoid the ‘shiny object syndrome’ that's so prevalent on the Internet, you really have such a great opportunity to win. You only need to give yourself some time to succeed.
Start A Publishing Company, Not an Affiliate Marketing Business
Don't be under the impression that you're starting an affiliate marketing business, there's really no such thing. What you're really doing here is, starting a publishing company. You're creating epic content that's really helpful to a group of people, your audience. You're then repurposing the content into various forms like booklets, slide presentations, audio video presentations and others. The goal really is; you want to get planted first, get established, and get things in order and going. Next, you want to be pursued, you want to be an influencer and be an expert on your topic. It is then you start applying to a bunch of affiliate programs from where you start earning your income.
Build A Virtual Team That’s Super Cost Effective
James helped one of his friends who's not good on the computer keyboard or using WordPress, to set up an account on Upwork, the #1 website to find high-talent low-cost freelancers. They hired a virtual assistant at $5/hour. The friend wanted her articles optimized and schedule them for publishing. The VA just took an hour and 15-minutes to get the job done. Total cost ...just $6.
This is how it works when you have a virtual team in place. It costs very little as compared to a real team in an office setting. You have a variety of talent at your disposal; be it graphics designers, audio-video editors, writers and others.
So listen now, start building your lifestyle business you’ve only dreamed of, which works 24/7.
